Great cameras at a great price.
Something important we should keep in mind:
1) some of the settings can be enabled/configured only on the camera itself (illumination settings as an example)
2) setting direct access via P2P is not an easy task, so the above is not possible remotely and requires local presence
3) arm/disarm setting doesn't work well over the apps (DMSS) or does not work at all when you have IVS rules enabled
4) WizSense and AI do not work that well. The cameras detect and alarm cats, recognized as humans in my case.

Hi, thanks for the review. Do you know if the smart events work when image rotation is activated (corridor mode)? A lot of Hikvision cameras do not.

Hi Josh will depend on the application and what you are trying to achieve, both cameras have different features to accommodate different scenarios. Dahua gives you the benefit of active deterrence with colour footage. HikVision does colour footage better but doesn’t have the active deterrence. So really depends on the situation.

I have these but the audio is terrible. Sounds really tinny and echoes badly. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Does the installation only require an Ethernet connection?

Yes Ethernet cable which will provide Power over Ethernet (PoE) via Network video Recorder PoE port.

wow, hard to find a honest review in youtube nowadays, clearly this review is Ihua biases judging for all the set up in the background, looks like more a sales speech than a honest review, shame.

Thanks Carlos for your opinion. The footage speaks for itself and has not been edited. This is how we test all cameras, so not sure what you mean by setup in the background.

Dont buy this camera!!
Even worse, this 8MP is on the same sensor and CPU as a 2MP non TIOC camera so they had to limit bitrate and other parameters on the 3849 to try to make it functional, and the results are problems even during the day. So any type of AI will bring it to its knees.
In my opinion the 3849 should not be sold with that current MP/sensor and CPU combination,

So it means these cameras can not produce nice images by night? Any setting by the NVR to improve quality? I have just bought 5pcs 3849H-AS-PV-S4. Bit disappointed by these results..... Giving some additional lights sources may help.
