I never tried hardcore.... defeats the purpose of mmos like WoW for me, but I didn't think PVP deaths counted. If that dude got killed in the arena chest event, does that mean he would have died permanently and had to restart? Also, that first death in BFD by the bear tank.... I feel like players forget to strafe when they run away, having your back facing the enemy just leaves you totally vunerable without any way to dodge parry or block, atleast strafing while u run away u can still kinda dodge block parry. Its not a huge deal, but it does give u a slightly better chance to survive or avoid some damage so I idunno why these hardcore players don't do that.

I played a hc warrior to 60 on turtle wow. That's grouping and and trading 5 levels below and over you and no auction house. I had not an mmo feeling like this for a long time.
my friendslist was full with people i met and were around my level. Trading bags for enchants or potions etc. The thrill if you are near death is not comparable to normal wow.
But playing without hc is also way more relaxing :D

PVP deaths are perma in Hardcore but the servers are pve, the gurubashi arena is one of the only areas that will flag you for pvp. As long as you don't pull enemy faction guards or step in the arena you'll never be flagged.
