He was honestly the best villian in the series and this is also when Aku was really solidified as an extremely cruel character to me. He literally used X9's emotions to get him to try and kill Jack even though he knew X9 stood no chance.

He’s like Mr Freeze from Batman. While both may be antagonists, they were harmed by horrible people that made them into these monsters. All they want is to be happy with the people they love.
For me, it's like Doc Ock in Spiderman PS4; You know his fate already, you know how it's going to end, so you feel sorry for him because of it. There's nothing you can do, there's nothing he can do, all we can do is accept his final fate.

Living in Arizona at the time we had monsoon seasons to,as it rained we'd listen to music.I lost her though due to the monsoons it brought out sonoran desert toads.They ended up poisoning her water bowl(which I had left outside).I still blame myself till this day when I just found her dead after school...... I hate the rain.
The music from this episode kinda reminds me of Vangelis's score for Blade Runner- "Blade Runner Blues" and "Tears in the Rain". The feel is magnified further by the fact that the episode has a future noir styling and setting. This is probably one of my favorite episodes of Samurai Jack.

We named our baby Boston terrier after this episode. Lulu was the runt of the litter. Yet the most fierce of her brother and sisters. Repeatedly dominating in play fights with her big brother, the biggest. She loved playing, food, mommas milk and her mom. She was 5 weeks old when she contracted pneumonia. She passed yesterday. The first thing I get to do on my birthday the following morning is get to mourning my daughter. I hate this planet. Rest well Lulu, sweet thing.
i used to watch samurai jack when i was a little kid. i was 7-8 years old. i loved it. the ones with bad parents knows that it sucks . and watching this show was my favorite hoby with some other cartoons. one day i watched this episode...when i feel the love and mercy in the eyes of an assassin to a little dog, i grew up. I realized that my parents weren't looking me like that. I understood , I was alone, was never going to be a loved one. ten years came and went. I am a man with deep thoughts in his head with only two desire. finding a lovely women to love and the other one, the greater one, being a writer. I am a man with killing self thoughts while sitting on the very first step of the stairway to my bedroom. I am a man with a broken heart, that I try everyday and every minute to fix it. I man a who never gives up but always falls. I am a man with emotional heart but a cold blooded beast to his family and all the idiot and ignorant people out there. I want to leave a promise to my future self here. dear Yusuf or with the name I gave you, Kay...I will do whatever takes for you to feel and live healthier. as you know I quit gambling and smoking recently. dont worry, i have never blamed you for them. for the money you spent on the casinos and the damage our lungs had. I also will start going gym again soon. Just for you. the only person I am merciful to. the only person that never abandoned me, only person that always hold me even when I didn't hold back. Man I just finished samurai Jack today(May 18th 2023) and all I can do is play this song after watching it all, it perfectly captures the show imo, such a fascinating world of robots magic and evil,I loved samurai Jack, I think it might be on the same level as Avatar for cartoons forsure, but I’m glad I finished the journey, I’ll never forget this show for my lifetime.
The April Moon episode of Batman Beyond and this one had major film noir elements to them and I loved them both dearly. Film noir is just amazing every time it's used. Absolutely adore it!
Not at all. This is a cinematic masterpiece in my opinion. Doesn’t overdo dialogue, like this show had an issue of that before (sarcasm), it has a compelling story with a charming early 1900’s detective-esque story, a beautiful score to accompany it, in the end to leave you in tears (at least that was the case for me). It’s a beautiful episode.
Going through rough times and didn't know I could relate to a robot character. The music matches the vibe and my inner ambience! Holding so much affection for someone and worst of all I'll prolly never have them in my life.
