Landing in a city at night is almost like a spectacle, but it's actually pretty misleading, as cities are actually pretty ordinary and mundane things. Seen from a plane though, they acquire a whole new dimension that makes them look more spectacular than normal.
The downtown is really beautiful, tall buildings with lots of lights and colors. But too few skyscrapers. Imagine my city Sao Paulo's 40k skyscrapers lit at night (most are not very illuminated), but it still dwarves nearly all US cities, except maybe NY and Chicago.
MIA is a great city, too bad it's not the actual United States. It's just a slice of Latin america where 60% of the people don't speak EN. No wonder they're more attractivethan in other parts of the US, they are latinos, not americans.
