Is it worth the $400 difference in the pro? It sounds wonderful but wonder if I should go all the way? The sounds are very nice. The violin reminds me Gypsy violin. I can do without the funzy sounds. Your videos have inspired me! Thanks!

This Roland page outlines some,of the differences: support.roland.com/hc/en-us/articles/4414721295643-Aerophone-Differences-between-the-AE-30-AE-20-AE-20W-and-AE-10-AE-10G
I think there’s some videos in TH-cam that compare them. Good luck!

It is surprising how things have changed, I bought a new AE30 Pro about 3 months ago and the sounds of the woodwind and brass are not at all to bad. (I play an Alto Sax (used to play the Clarinet until it became too difficult because of a damaged second finger on my right hand) now I’m playing Clarinet again and it sounds pretty good. I also like the sound of the String Instruments as well.
I get a lot of good remakes from fellow musicians on how great the sounds are. Keep up the great work you do and I’ll keep on learning new things with my AE30. Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿

Thank you! I had an Akai EWI at one point and I think the Roland sounds are much better and easier to adjust. Thanks for watching!

30 is the Pro? That’s the one I want but love the ambient sounds on this video.

I think all these sounds are digitalized from original sounds of each instrument. So, there must be a way to fine tune the aerophone. I would read the manual and experiment first with voices and tones in-built on this instrument and Roland cloud. I think this instrument is a clever idea. Only thing is that USB port, Bluetooth versions and speakers and memories need an upgrade even on same models if it is manufactured as orders come by.

There’s an app to edit the sounds but the architecture is fairly limited. While you can change a lot of settings it’s not as deep as a typical synth. But the Aerophone is still a great instrument. Thanks for watching!

Jazz Scat is a patch on the Fantom 06. I forget which one but you also played another sound on the Fantom. I've been thinking about getting one because I'm using keys in a cover band for those parts, but for certain songs (Handclap, Living La Vida Loca, Brickhouse) it might be an option worth exploring. Any risk of spraying spit out the bottom? I read that it doesn't have a spit guard per se. it just drains out the bottom.

I’ve been surprised at the amount of sounds this wind synth has that are the same as past Roland synths. There’s a few patches that sound exactly like ones from the XP-50. There are hundreds of waves to use to build patches. Many of those waves have the same names and sound the same as waves from the Fantom and XP-50/80. There’s a silicon cap that fits on the end of the wind synth to catch the spit. I’m using it in this video; definitely helps. Some people complain it falls off easily but I haven’t had that issue. Thanks for watching!

@@synthblock you are correct, I have a ‘spit’ catcher on my AE 30 and it works great, just don’t knock it ‘cause it will be dislodged easily.
