I really like the original designs, looked more Alien. But I also understand the change, they wanted to show us visually that they developed as a military, they are armored and geared, not some skinnyass priests
That’s what the illuminate are though. They’ve always been a peaceful race and they’ve always possessed some form of mind control. The overseers give a slave master vibe but that can be a lower tier of illuminate in society. I think the council members are still gonna be a thing. After all most Cyborg and Bug variants came one way or another along with some new ones.
@adamallen7070 that's my point, they have changed over the years. It's intentional to show they moved from peaceful religious race to vengeful mass murdering soldiers
I think the Ghouls, which are the little four-armed clawed Illuminate, are going to come when the illusionists and the rest of the main Illuminate forces, based on recent posts from 1ronS1ghts. They’re supposed to be summoned apparently. I think the voteless will only appear in city maps, and the ghouls will appear in non-city maps.
Imagine if the current voteless will eventually mutate or 'evolve' into ghouls after a certain amount of time, as well as even more dangerous and wild strains of Illuminate.
This is how I imagine the ghouls: They'll either be a tanky but otherwise low priority target like the hive guard which are usually sprinkled around in the middle of bug hordes, or they'll be personally summoned by overseers (or other yet to be determined illuminates) to go berzerk if not dealt with immedately like the alpha brood commander's body guards. Just my speculation though. Though they could also just be a insignificant alternate variant to the voteless kind of like how the pouncers are just smaller hunters.
Do you forget even mob Automatons and mob bugs have tons of variants? That four arms brute squid could easily be Warrior class voteless summoned by Summoner Overseers. I don’t think they ditched all these design, they just expanded upon them.
Clearly they are not prior versions of current enemies, but future unreleased enemy types. You don't make such an elaborate model like the brute without eventually using it.
I had the same thought during the first half of the video. But then the question becomes “where were the models we have now?” because those were not leaked. Doesn’t make sense
I think you have this totally backwards tbh. I think the voteless look this way becaaaause their main big melee focused guy that you showed is what the voteless are somewhat being forced to mimic genetically or whatever.
This video was alredy out of date as it came out. We know actually know that unit will come, hell we have had leaks for it for a few weeks now that are much more polished.
I'm very happy they went with the Voteless idea. So far Helldiver fights have been in farm land or strategic middlenif nowhere bases. Being in cities and seeing all the citizens turned into the enemy makes the universe feel so much more alive. I really hope we fight automatons and bugs in more city planets too.
3:12 they actually HAVE second pare of arms, but iys under armor, you can see a thickened armor at the point of growth of the second pair of arms. 30 seconds before answer in video, lol
That first "leak" you showed also got leaked with animations and sounds, apparently it was going to be some sort of tunneling illuminate enemy. I don't think its the voteless, i think it may be a evolved version though, or some other type of monstrosity.
you can break the overseers armor and theres no sign of extra arms, i think the idea of them being advanaced voteless makes more sense since theres different stages of voteless you can find some with just a mask and slightly changed faces but others have full squid faces
Maybe the overseers do have 2 sets of arms but they are pressed into 2 arms to be physically stronger, I haven’t had the best look but their feet don’t have a human shape but could just be cybernetics
When you shoot the overseers armour off there is no second set of arms. Maybe the armour being ripped off also riped of there arms but there is no trace of that. Also the do hickies as you call them on the harvesters dont focus the laser they generate the sheild which we know because if you destroy them the harvesters cant raise there sheilds.
8:40 I actually think that these are going to be the equivalent to the bile titans and factory striders for the illuminate. They'll appear rarely and have their own eliminate high value target missions.
Lore wise: the reason why we don’t have all the leaked illuminates is because they’ve only sent out their vanguard. We’ll see the tougher enemies once they understand how hard we fight. Business wise: The game awards was a great place to reveal the illuminate. Build the hype, drop the same day, and now you’ve got a great chance to boost your sales as well as raise your player count. There was ≈ 160k helldivers active on calypso when it dropped. It could be they wanted to release something-but are still working on the rest of the illuminate enemies
The first leak you showed is a ghoul, it's an elite like a charger of impaler and will be released once the Illuminate get to the Meridia portal and let everyone in. AH definitely did not replace it with the voteless.
4:50 This may actually be the observer. We have leaked name files that show the observer from the first game may be coming to the new game. This would act as a cloaked version of the watcher
tbh I hope the voteless eventually become a simple planet modifier like the jet brigade so we can have 100% encounters with the illuminate units and also the hordes get kind of annoying sometimes
That old harvester seems to confirm that the HL2 strider was the main inspiration for the harvesters, they look almost exactly alike in shape, style and texture.
I disagree. While your points are valid, i believe they had more inspiration from WotW tripods. The "hoof looking feet" and "dangly bits" along with the laser beam, it being a tripod, it's awfully similar to WotW tripod. Similar bits to the strider in HL2 is the jointed legs imo but aside from that, WotW tripods resemble it more
i would make the obilisk work like the bubble shields from starwars. it projects a bubble to allow the illumate to advance under cover so you are encouraged to charge at it, getting close to the melee heavy faction in the process, to take it out
at 2:00 this might be wrong but my guess is they’ll be like a further evolution of the voteless because theres three types of voteless that get tankier and look more illuminatey
5:00 the leak model of harvester is more reminiscent of War of the World (2005) Tripods. Not only is it in same tripod configuration, the "dangling wires" are tentacles the WotW tripods use to *"HARVEST"* Humans. (It's like an extendo arm thing). In the WotW movie, they have 3 "hoof" feet like one in the model but my assumption of them changing it is it's easier to make it a spike shaped and not have to animate the "wires"
I remember when the leaks about the Illuminate first came out in March, hoping they would release the faction during summer. But it’s nice to finally see them but kinda disappointing they changed their designs. Hopefully when they add more illuminate units, they resemble their leaked counter parts.
I think those large hulk monsters might not have fully become the voteless, I could see them still being added in a charge/berserker type role of a large and heavy melee enemy. Also, I just want to share that the antennae on the Harvester are the shield generator and can be shot out. One of the great uses of the AMR is to shoot out the antennae before it gets alerted, negating the shield entirely.
8:00 fun fact, The cognitive disruptor can’t actually change the strategem input while you’re imputing that strategem. So if you put one input in and nothing else it won’t change that strategem combination.
I think the Illuminate might end up having a heavy flyer as a Bile titan/Factory strider equivalent. Imagine fighting the Mothership or giant floating robot.
what I’d love to see from the illusionists is for them to confuse us in a new way: once the illusionists have casted their disrupting tech-magic, all of the other Helldivers also appear as only some Voteless, making it hard to impossible to distinguish between the folks helping you and the folks fighting you. Also, that’d just be hilarious and lead to so many funny situations lol

you got it backwards. this was just a scout wave that we are fighting. those leaks are harder enemies that will come later. this is how arrowhead does factions. they release a first wave the they add to them over time.
Personally I’m thinking that most of these old enemies will return with the main fleet, as the illuminate settle back into the galaxy (our galaxy) they will bring back more casual militarized units like the decayed tri-pods and observers and other units that were seemingly “replaced” by the current enemies. The current group seem to be a much more advanced and developed branch of whatever military they have, not being religious are fanatical or anything like the first game and leaked images of HD2 illuminate. Almost like the illuminate out a lot of time developing this scouting force to be as efficient as possible for the second coming of the total population….this was their galaxy after all. They will want it back. TLDR: old leaks aren’t not coming, probably going to arrive once the faction has fully set into the galaxy (like how bugs and bots are right now)
There's only one issue I have with this entire leaks to current.. and that is that this entire invasion still has very "civilian" tones to it. Overseer, Watcher, Harvester.. these arent military titles. This is a civilian harvesting operation to gather meatshields, with some light armaments to fight back against any aggressors. This is NOT their actual military. The leaked models got updated again fairly recently (after the squids themselves dropped) - which implies that stuff like the original staff-squid you assumed turned into the Overseer might be the actual military variant of it. Likewise we have not seen the Titan-variant of the Squid forces yet. Yes, the Harvester is tall, but its appearance on lower difficulties, as well as its overall low armour on weakspots implies its the same category as chargers and hulks. NOT a Titan/Strider. Its possible the "old harvester" is in fact their military variant, and the actual Titan-class enemy with armour and weapons to match. So etiher the actual military is coming through the meridian gateway - bringing all those ghouls and such with them - or this comment ages horribly and I'm proven wrong
1:52 maybe this is a future enemy that will eventually come like we've seen with new bugs and robots. Could be a new evolution of them that come through the black hole
Bro the leaked models could comeback, meridia is changing and this is only a vanguard we’re facing, and by the looks of the leaked models we can tell they look more ancient so they could use meridia to call in ancient forces

Here waiting for the squids to drop the REAL heavy units to have a good time (given the harvesters appear in lower diffs and are more like the name says: tools to harvest voteless material and not so focused in being walking weapons) Also, now that i think it, maybe those tentacles that look like a beard in the original model where intended to show as tools for the harvester to pick up people for the voteless factorys (like how the war of the worlds trypods use hidden tentacles for the same purpose)
Also, the two parts you're pointing at 5:23 maybe help focus the laser as a secondary function, but the main use for these is the energy shield. You can actually shoot and destroy one of the parts and that'll stop the harvester from activating the shield again
half-life fan here, gotta say that the hunter's weapon kinda look like the hivehand & the shock roach from hl1 and opposing force. More like the combination of xenian and race x's weapon.
how would a brutish looking creature turned into a transfigured human has the idea of It might be coming in the future, just like the cars, ever crossed your mind?
To me it felt the devs realized a lot of people already dislike automatons so probably they wanted to not have as many aspects of the automatons on the Illuminate and adding the voteless adds a swarm type of enemies that is fun to fight.
I really like the original designs, looked more Alien. But I also understand the change, they wanted to show us visually that they developed as a military, they are armored and geared, not some skinnyass priests

38 MILLION IN 3 DAYS
Lol. No, the voteless where never Illuminate behemouths. We will see the 4 armed illuminate soon, and they will be stronger than chargers…
At this point he's just engagement baiting by saying "Illumi-NATE" instead of "Illumi-NIT" 😂😂😂
I think the ghouls are actualy just dead illuminate that the summoner will revive to fight off the helldivera
What if they have a helldiver type unit
These are just other troops later to come. I'd venture to guess you've never played HD1 by the takes you put in this video.
I don't think the first one is just a fodder enemy
Symmetra wall incoming
To me it felt the devs realized a lot of people already dislike automatons so probably they wanted to not have as many aspects of the automatons on the Illuminate and adding the voteless adds a swarm type of enemies that is fun to fight.
My theory is that the Voteless will eventually evolve into the Ghouls from the leaks. Also I think the way you pronounce Illuminate is perfectly fine.
Your voice kinda reminds me of Krazyrabbit, the COD zombies TH-camr
Actually we lost 37 million. You’re 10 million short
Please stop saying Illuminate like that
Sorry bro I’ve watched like all ur videos and I just realized I’m not subbed 😂 I am now tho dw
