Thanks much for posting this...I loaned my copy to a S.O.B. back in the mid-90s, and never saw it again. IMO, a lot of jive on this album, but definite moments of brilliance...lots of foreshadowing to Living Colour.
I love these older, very cerebral type albums, that take you somewhere for a moment in time. Not overproduced, just two guys laying down whatever comes to mind.
I remember getting a free cd sampler from some record store of various artists and "Size 10 1/2 Sneaks" was on it. I loved it. Late 1980s I believe. This album would have been MUCH better had they used real drums. I knew of Reid but not Frisell. Little did I know I'd become a huge Frisell fan a few years later.
Had this back in the day. And then it was no longer in my collection because I had a girlfriend hold my shit when I moved across the country. The box of albums I got back was missing a bunch of critical shit, including this one.
The first album I bought on Compact Disc with my own money
I remember seeing this in a catalog like rykodisc or something and for some reason I wasn’t ever able to order it. Now the time has come!
Interesting fusión work. This #vernonreid album was released in 1985.

Outstanding, strangely foreign yet it resonates with me. Like a maddening scumble of color, I find the subject.

At least she had good taste in which she took from you. Putting it nicely.

Thanks for this. Loved the tune that starts from minute 20. Forgot the title.. black hair?
Is it possible for something to be not what you expected if you don't know what to expect?
