People disliking the game, y'all do know that this is an HD remake from a PSP game right? I'm surprised that it's a complete graphics overhaul and it's looking wonderful. Of course the gameplay is different as it was, again, ported from the PSP.
I don't own a PS4 but I sure wish I'd be able to play it. It sucks that the Vita nor the PC was left out.
The gameplay is the same, just made for a controller.
***** Those aren't false graphics, from what I remember, everything was fully rendered to fit the current-gen systems. Not just stretched, pixelated like other HD remakes. That's what I think SE did. Otherwise, the game wouldn't have taken this long, and that the last-gen consoles would've gotten it too.
***** they didn't advertise false graphics, go look up some screenshots. HD looks infinitely better than the original version. the only thing they kept were the original cinematics which is strange but the game itself has been upscaled heavily. there is no false advertising
AvidAlchemist It is strange. The scenes that were the best looking in the original version now have the worst graphics... The rest looks gorgeous though.
keybladesrus I think most of those scenes were direct rips from the original release. in the context of the psp graphics they might look great but against ps4 HD graphics, not so much lol I'm assuming you're talking about the cutscenes though
This feel like this is going to be the darkest final fantasy yet and I am loving it

I believe it is because of the graphic content (i.e., blood, death scenes). It is a very war-heavy based story, thus the need for a stricter rating IMO. = )
Why people talks so much about the voice? I think its pretty beautifull.

Yeah, seeing the blood-covered Chocobo during a horrific war scene was really jarring for Final Fantasy. I'm a little worried this'll be the "Shadow the Hedgehog" of the Final Fantasy series where mature "edginess" is forced upon it for the sake of appealing to "modern gamer" demographics or whatever. I really hope not though, The Final Fantasy series has always had lots of depth and mature themes in it, but there was always an element of whimsy to balance it out. I always loved that about it.

You would also need to know Japanese, as it was only released in Japan. I just hope it gets a PC port.
I have the original version on my laptop via emulator. one of the best final fantasy games in a very long time.

I know that this game comes with the demo of Final Fantasy XV and I am super stoked for it, but I feel like this game (Type-0) is being overshadowed. I remember this game being highly received in Japan and heard nothing but great things about this game. I remember people constantly wishing they imported this over the other countries. For a HD remaster of a PSP game, this looks amazing!. The story looks incredible! I love, love, love how darker this game is than the rest of the other games. And the music choices have been terrific as well. I hope to play both games next week. It seems so weird saying that!
I also remember that a few years ago when people wanted NOTHING but to play type-0 and practically begging square enix to port it to the states (including myself). The game is most defently being overshadowed and im a little bit disappointed at that since people DID want to play this game.

I have two questions. If I hold off purchasing the game for a couple of weeks, will the Final Fantasy XV demo still be available to me? And am I the only one who actually likes the voice acting in this? It really isn't bad.
u can only have the demo by the pre-order i guess. the voice acting is not so terrible but its not so gud tho
They mentioned that the online version, psn and live, still comes with the ff15 demo for at least 2 months after its released.

Only day one editions of the game have the demo, in other words preorders and the day editions stores will sell on release day.

Been waiting 5 years for this game. was going to buy a vita and download a fan translated version that was due to come out the same time i got the news that it was being released for PS4 with the 15 demo. Instantly bought the playstation 4 and the ultimate edition of FF Type 0. I admit, that I was one of the ones that quit 20 minutes into the game thinking it a disappointment, but unlike most who did the same, I didn't return the game, I continued it after a few months, and gotta say, after chapter 4, the story and gameplay blossomed. I steadily grew to appreciate it and by the end (and what an end!) I came to love the game. It was one of the most enjoyable games I played this year, and he're hoping one day it gets it's well deserved sequel, Type-Next!

The In-Game looks better.
Noctis Pendragon well if you play PSP original on emu PPSSPP and make it 4 times internal resolution(which doesn't really need strong PC or smartphone) it also looks better than cgi it just only lacks motion blur and Depth of field
if you don't see this as just lazy remaster(I'm not talking about translation just releasign this on PS4/X1) than... whatever I don't care do what you want to do.
wielkus I played the orinal version and the PPSSPP version , this remaster is way better than the PPSSPP version but it doesnt have the same feeling as the psp version , which may be good.
They all remastered the CGI a lil , you dont have this on PPSSPP.
wielkus The only way in which the in-game visuals on PPSSPP beat the CGI is the resolution, which of course is locked for the CGI. The CGI was produced with the idea of not compromising cutscene quality in several areas due to some hardware restrictions.
God I remember I went to the panel for this last PAX East. I loved this trailer then, and I love it now.

For anyone complaining about the price, seriously though, it may be a 4 year old psp game, but it never came to the west, and it's hd so looks better and all, so it's brand new to us, and brand new games cost $60. Not to say it wouldn't be nice if it was cheaper, but it makes sense why it isn't.

Yes it's for PS4/XB1 only. The Vita was a failure and there really is no point of releasing it on those from a logical business point.
Yes, it's the same universe as the Fabula Nova Crystallis. But it has the same level of connection with XIII as XII did with FF Tactics and Vagrant Story.
Yes, they are releasing this to market FF XV as well but it works considering this game never was released outside of Japan. This is another reason as to why it shouldn't have been available on Vita.
This game was pretty unknown until after the fan translation was done.
Fellow commentators, as a fan of the Kingdom Hearts and Darksiders series, do you think I would like this game? I know a lot of you have played it on the PSP already. Graphics don't mean much to me as long as they're adequate. I'm a gameplay and story oriented person.

Omg I've never seen blood in a final fantasy game.
There's plenty of blood across all Final Fantasies, yet they're not emphasized as much as this game. The only scene with lots of blood I can remember was FF7 (blood on the walls, floor and faces at the end).

Well actually it was a PSP game... but its not going to look nowhere near as good as XV becuase of that. I know, its age of it being a handheld game shows even WITH the high definition graphics of the PS4.

There's no auto-save feature, in terms of gameplay. You need to save at the red crystals found around Akademia, towns, and select missions.

Does this game have an active dodging system, or is it still dictated by stats? Just that it looks like you can actually dodge around the battlefield.

Final fantasy type-0,final fantasy 13 and final fantasy xv all have different stories and different timelines but they all share one thing in common and that is their mythos.
This game handles the term l'cie very differently. Instead of Fal'cie, a nation's crystal can brand people l'cie, and they don't water down their powers.
L'Cie are branded by one of the four Crystals of Orience. They are more often kept in service to their respective Crystal, carrying out its will, rather than being given a specific and finite Focus. Although granted eternal youth, l'Cie will lose their emotions and memories gradually over time, due to the weariness caused by extended servitude to the Crystal. Conversely, l'Cie with stable emotional and mental states can remember those close to them who died, whereas that memory is erased from the minds of humans. An example of this ability is Claes Celestia Misca Sancest.
An Orience l'Cie will enter crystal stasis when the Crystal deems his or her purpose has been fulfilled. They can be remembered even after they crystallize. The last thoughts of a l'Cie are manifested into a Pyroxene, usually found at the site where the l'Cie entered stasis. Only the Black Tortoise l'Cie Atola can interpret these messages for others to read.
A l'Cie's appearance is defined by his or her glowing brand (unlike a physical brand in Final Fantasy XIII) and the color of his or her eyes: Vermillion Bird l'Cie have red eyes, White Tiger has green, Azure Dragon blue, and Black Tortoise has purple. The l'Cie brands of Orience are similar to the final stage of the Pulse l'Cie brand.
L'Cie are given special abilities in battle, and are divided into two types: Type-A, who are combat-based; and Type-B, who possess special abilities. The Phantoma from a l'Cie is more powerful than Phantoma from normal beings. During the arrival of Finis, only l'Cie can travel to the Palace of All Magic.
For the war taking place in Orience, the Dominion of Rubrum considered instating l'Cie into the military to battle against the invading nations, but Class Zero was suggested instead due to being more controllable and sharing the will of the country, unlike l'Cie who are guided by the Crystal itself. In the other three countries, l'Cie are instantly enlisted in the army.

Is this a stand alone story or is this in FF13's world, they talk about LeCee (prob spelled wrong), and talking about "when the seal of creation is broken, a voice like thunder shall sound" (they talking about Lightning?). Idk im prob thinking into it too much XD
It's a stand-alone story that takes place in the same universe. Same goes for FFXV. They share things like the goddess Etro and l'cie and fal'cie etc, the same lore.
And as much as I'm sure Toriyama lamented it, no, Lightning has absolutely no connection to this game.
