I mean I loved SCX digital system. I preferred it over Carrera for numerous reasons. While Carrera looked prettier, SCX digital had features that Carrera was missing for a while. Not to mention I was able to have auch larger track in my small 8x8 space. 60ft track with only 1 bridge for elevation. The track also had a "Nascar" loop. On top of that itanaged to only have 1 hairpin (which 1 is fun) and roughly a 15ft straight (2 straight running the length of the table connected by a banked curve).
GREAT VIDEO! Love the breakdown you did a wonderful job. I just subscribed to your channel and wish I found this video sooner so I could have shared it when it was more relevant. You mentioned “competitor” which we are defiantly not competitors, our goal is to GROW the slot car niche, if you sell slot cars you are our friend, period. Your channel is great glad I found it. You always have permission to use our videos, try to be nice haha. To dispel the “racist comment”. Spanish people are European aka white, my neighbor is from Spain, I will not share her name. But we have an open invite to stay with them for vacation at their island vacation home. I am not racists so the comment did not offend me at all. I enjoyed your tipsy toeing around it made me laugh quite a bit!
We were just joking when we referred to you as racist. We're a little on the based side here. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! What happened to SCX was a real shame and it seems like new management is still a mess. Thanks for the comment!
What he said was not racist he was attacking an ideology anyways fan of the channel and I love this post very informative I want to run a 9 car set and you've been most helpful
Apparently SCX Advance had connectivity, sensitivity issues as well as several other problems. Advance 2.0 has supposedly corrected these issues. So perhaps SCX was reluctant to export Advanced (because it probably would have resulted in a crapload of returns). There's a slot car TH-camr, based in Spain, who posts (Victor Marcos); he recently interviewed a gentleman (Albert Roldan, Industrial Engineer) who worked on identifying and correcting the various issues with the SCX Advance system. It's a good interview (conducted in Spanish only, no Eng subs available) and probably why SCX limited distribution of Advance in 2020.
I have 2 SCX tracks. 1 digital and 1 analog. 8 total cars. 5 digital and 3 analog for the tri oval. We have had much fun as a family with these but since SCX is so wishy washy should I just scrap it and go Carrera? I want to build a large digital track and have a lot more selection of cars to choose from.
I made a mistake and bought Scalextric digital..when I got back in to slot cars.. then I saw about $1200 worth of Carrera sets in a bundle at a pawnshop and I got it all for $200..go with Carrera and you will not be disappointed.
Hi guys, unfortunately, the new Advance system from SCX no longer has the quality of the first system SCX Digital. SCX Digital was/is with some small changes the best digital system on the market. The new cars don't have the quality of the first cars anymore and who has time to look at his controller during the race to see if the fuel is still enough. Unfortunately SCX missed to improve the first system, instead they developed two new systems. I can't see a good strategy behind them. I still ride SCX Digital, with a small change in both digital and analog mode.
I loved the original systems look. I liked WOS a lot but I guess you're right about looking down at the controller or bringing it up to your face could be distracting. Miracasting to the tv has the same problem which is why I prefer Carrera's Driver Displays. I will say that giant SCX fuel guage tower looked pretty!
Still a fan of the original SCX Digital system and will set up my track up some day when I have some space to dedicate it to. I loved all those first gen accessories like all the border options, the lighted bridge, lap counter, chronometer, fuel display, the list goes on. It was amazing and I wished SCX kept that going for SCX Advanced. In any case, I’m sticking with my system and already have it ready to go with PC Lapcounter and the aftermarket Start Light that I will implement when I can.
I have always driven Ninco, i got more track then i can fit in my house and around 20+ cars, sadly they seemed to have stopped, so recently getting back into my slotcar mayhem, and ive totally switched over to Carrera Digital 132, i must admit, i love the system, it works, user friendly and there's not like 4+ systems and variations like SCX/Scalextrix clusterf*ck. The cars also are the most detailed imo. Spare parts ( tires and detachables ) are widely available. It seems Carrera will be my new system!
Look if you like scx, buy it now, as much as you can. Stock up on chips and cars. Nobody knows the future of scx, or for that any other slot car company.
@@markdanielczyk5132 You can, but then you have to solder/alter the WOS car's tail lights, so they light up... WOS had a brake light feature that does not work with Advance
@@VIrtualRaceways You can still race without lights. The older SCX Digital cars require a hole on the bottom of the car for the light sensor to use the pit lane.
What a rude title for someone that is only making assumptions the whole video. I'm following very closely the slot car market and this product has great feedback in Europe. You are also endorsing someone that apparently started accepting pre-orders without a closed deal ? The deal probably went void and then the seller starts trashtalking the brand. Classic stuff from someone dying to carry his business through TH-cam.
@@Sundayslotcars Weird answer... Are you trying to debate of the slot car market with its community or just trying to bash a company that feeds your hobby?
Look guy, I take great offense with your comment in general because you clearly didn't watch the video. SCX owners in North America were waiting years for new SCX product and what does SCX do? Tells Brian Young who was in charge of it's North American distribution to shove it when he wanted to import their product to the US. Now all the North American owners are screwed. SCX can go to hell :)
@@Sundayslotcars I did watch the video, its astonishing that you keep believing the only one reseller that has talked on this story. As I said, the case where the reseller couldn't cope with the deal, it went void and he trashtalks the company is very more likely than a company saying "nah we don't want to sell there" Your "bry-guy" was probably sweating when he had to refund preorders for a product that DID NOT have a deal for. Please think outside the box, this kind of content where you talk as an omniscient is laughable

The issue is a lot of consumers felt burned. It's 2023 and they still don't have good distribution in North America. Most of their base jumped ship.
I actually prefer the fuel lights on a separate screen. SCX digital had the best system IMO. the lights on the WOS controller looked like cheap toys.
You could still have fuel on a separate screen with WOS no?

Ninco went out of business as well.Analog sets were amazing.Digital sucked just like SCX.
That's fine, if SCX does not want our money, I will be glad to spend it with other slot car companies.
