Mari, I literally died of laughter at your little readers!! 😂 Don’t feel too bad, I’m turning 45 this year and got prescription progressives about 2 years ago. I mostly read sitting up though but I feel your pain!
My colourwork heart skipped multiple beats while watching your lovely episode Mari! I need to make another Iris hat. Those colours are gorgeous. Happy knitting!
Your sweet shop blanket colors are SO beautiful!!! Love the linen main color, so gorgeous 😍 Love all the projects you showed, and thanks for the shoutouts! 🥰
Wow! I can't thank you enough for mentioning those readers! I need readers too and have my Kindle words so large because I can't read it otherwise without glasses, and same as you, it's not comfortable wearing them when you're lying down. I also need them to read things for work, but I need to wear over-the-ear headphones, also not comfortable for glasses. I'm definitely going to give these a try! Thanks.
Ok now I'm at the end of the video and had to make another comment on your Riggies Cardi! Keep going! Love the heathery combo effect of holding those two shades together. I wear mine all the time right now!
Happy New Year! Your knitting is always so inspiring. Those mittens! I also saw the Iris hat on Instagram and added it to my upcoming makes. Yours is coming along beautifully.
Happy New Year! Those mittens are insanely beautiful. Meticulous! I giggled about the Thin Optics and will be ordering them asap for my husband.😂 His readers all have wires or loops so he won’t lose off his neck, but not good for reading in bed. I do what another viewer said; I read on Kindle on my iPhone at enlarged font (and black background so it’s not so bright). I have the Iris Hat on my wish list and adore your dark version. I’m trying to figure out a dark-based colorwork chart for a Marie Wallin pattern and this is inspirational to see. AND - I got my destash loot! I don’t need any more linen quill but happy to add yours to the giant tub of colors. Thank you.
So good to see you! Those mittens are awesome. The Scotchpine pullover looks so cozy. I’m trying to behave and get wips done then you post a video and make me want to cast on new things 😂.
I read the Lions of Fifth Avenue too. It was very good as expected from Fiona Davis. Fun episode! I'm thinking go ahead and buy a sample skein of the yarn that you truly want to make the cardigan with.. knit up a swatch and then you'll know what to do! 😊
Gorgeous sweater you are wearing!!! I just saw you on the MKAL call. I test knit the Riggies with Jamieson and Smith held double. You will love it in Holst!
I am like you and forget to click the row counter. What works better for me is a chain with large links attached to a locking stitch marker. I place it a few stitches before the end of the row that I am about to knit and when I get to it, I notch the stitch marker on one link and move the whole thing to a few stitches in from the other end of the row. Then I finish the row, turn and knit back to the counter and notch it on again and so on. Because I have to handle it towards the end of every row, I am much less likely to forget the tally. It’s been a game changer for me. I used to get row counts wrong all the time but now I am invariably correct and I spend a lot less time worrying about whether I have got it wrong. x
I’m so happy you’re back! Love your FOs and WIPs. I’m also working on the medium sized Sophie Hood using Clinton Hill Bespoke worsted cashmere. So yummy. It will be perfect for wearing here in NYC where I live. Thanks for a great episode. Happy New Year to you and your family!
Happy new year and happy knitting 2025. Currently I m knitting the sway with me shawl by irina shaar 35:46 , an all over lace pattern which really is beautiful. On the top of my 2025 goal list is to finish the wips waiting since 23 to receive some love. I hope I’ll get at least some done
Gudrun's Tulip hat really caught my eye too - and I love yours. And I have a friend who's a huge Seahawks fan, who lives in Arizona. Too hot there for knitwear, but I think she'll be getting a pair of Seahawks shorty socks for her bday (in August - plenty of time, right?) Thanks for the inspiration 😊
Love your projects. Don't know if it would work on a Kindle, but I have a magnifying bookmark for my evening reading. You might enjoy Switchboard Soldiers, about the bi-lingual women who were recruited to go to France during WWI to act as field telephone operators who could translate while an American general and a French general were communicating troop movements.
What breed of dog did you name Moose? I love that name! Your Summer Lee socks are very inspiring. I am a multi, multi project knitter but only one book at a time!!
Mari I can’t believe I’m not the only one who needs readers in bed. 😂 I am totally gonna order some of those readers. Thanks for sharing. Where in Colorado do you live? I live in Aurora. I only know a few people who enjoy knitting. Always looking for knitting friends. 😊
So much inspiration Mari! Thanks for sharing!
Those readers! Genius!! I love love the Iris hat. And really all of Gudrun’s patterns. I know I have a Gudrun hat and sweater in my near future!

I enjoyed the Rose Code too! Currently listening to another book of the same author. Have liked all her books so far.
It is a great author - I am going to have to check out her other books!
Happy New Year Mari. As always, thanks for sharing. I'm excited to see a new swatch wall, but hope you keep the bunny face. Love him!
Thanks for watching
The bunny is a cutie

Yay! That MKAL was great! I’m more inspired than ever! I’m pretty excited to have the Riggies.
I love your Iris and that you were inspired to get out your Jamieson's stash! Mirry Dancers is a favorite of mine!
Dying laughing with the thin optics. So sexy. lol Love the blanket- I think I need that and def putting the iris hat in my favs. Happy New Year Kim

Moose is a Saint Bernard ❤️
Mari, you should increase the font (text) size on your Kindle. Then you won’t need to use readers.
Suggestion…read on an iPad. You can increase the font as big as you need to and avoid glasses.

Yay! I’m in the springs. Folks meet at ikea the second Saturday of the month to knit! You should join
@ omg that would be so fun. What time and for how long? I’m not sure 🤔 if this Saturday would work because I have two birthday parties to go to.
@ it is the second Saturday each month. So next one in February 9:30-11 or so
you are so cute with your little readers to read in bed
@@professorpurl they are becoming a favorite thing 😂
