Love the calendar idea. I pay bills twice a month. I also use quicken. I love Dave Ramsey but I too use my debit card and write a check for groceries each month. I don't use a binder but I like to make things fast and simple so I have file folders for each month and once I pay a bill it goes into that month folder. Then at the end of the year I take out all the bills and rubber band them and put them away for tax purposes. I just find it much faster than sorting by each company. I do have separate folders for like medical bills.
My fiance and I just purchased our first home. This is a great organizational tool to help us keep track of our budget and bills. Thank you!!

I really liked this video. I love seeing how other people manage their finances. I used to do it the way you do, or very close to it. I used YNAB instead of Quicken, but I found I just didn't like having it on my computer - like how you lost your Quicken file. I now do it all on paper using a ledger book. It seems very archaic, but it works for me and that's what really matters. Good idea to back yours up every week too - and anyone who uses a program on their computer. Thanks for sharing!
Patty Campbell Thank you Patty! I would actually love to keep a ledger. I just love pen on paper...it's a lost art. I mainly like to use Quicken for filing taxes, and quickly reviewing spending reports. Do you do that as well? If you do, how do you go about doing it?

Brilliant binder! I do the same system but have been trying to manage with the clear plastic page protectors, which was not the best. Love your tabbed folders - that will totally solve the problem. Thanks!

There is nothing like Carbonite for backing up computer files. I have been using it now for over five years and nothing is ever lost. I keep a monthly excel for my budget and do print that for my yearly book. But everything is always backed up with Carbonite.

I like the binder idea . I just started college & personally think this idea would help a lot. My question is .. Where did you online for the print out ?? . Meaning for months & calendars & thing..

I love this idea but what do u have behind the calendar? Or is it just a calendar in each divider?
I just have the calendar and a list of my monthly bills so I can make sure I don't leave anything out. the dividers act more as pockets to hold my statements.

Where did you get the month printables? Showing the little girl with the month written on it, not the calendars. Sorry if that's vague! or could you email it to me?
I think I got them from a lifeismessybootcamp.com printout. It was a few years ago though, and i don't have the digital files anymore :-( If I remember correctly, I only used the pictures of the little girl, but typed in the months on my own. It took a bit of Photoshopping. Sorry I couldn't bee more help!
Have you updated your system in any way since this video was released? Just curious.
I have! I mainly use the monthly calendar to mark all my bills in (in my everyday carry planner), just like I did before. The only difference is that I don’t keep a large binder to hold the bills in anymore. 98% of my statements are paperless. I also have them all pre entered into my quicken.
And I just started using QuickBooks for my business, so that has been a new challenge!

+sportyshortey I try :-) I can be a perfectionist, so it takes a lot of time to set up and life has been a bit crazy since I moved. Hopefully I will get more up soon!
Are you using card stock or regular copy paper?
Regular copy paper :-) I get it from Costco though, so it is a bit thicker and pretty good quality.
