As I write, this video is just over a year old. It strikes me as important that I take a moment to express the happiness and beauty that swelled in my heart as I heard you performing. I woke this morning with the tune of Rotten Peaches playing in the private studio of my mind and decided to start my morning by listening to the song. Being a huge fan of masterfully done covers I thought I'd see what I could find. As I suppose is obvious by now, what I found was you; you sir, are amazing. Elton, as an artist, is so dear to me for reasons that I don't really understand even myself. From my the years of my earliest memories, to the best (and incredibly rare) day I spent with my father, the Madman album in particular has played in the background, devoid of any conscious effort at "creating a moment." 😂 As I share this video with close friends, and whenever the idea strikes me (because that's what I do, lol) this moment will likely become yet another, on which I look back with love and appreciation. So, it is in this spirit that I thank you for all of the work, dedication, frustration, and energy that you've given to support the incredible talent you're sharing. A gift to all that should ever be so fortunate as to discover and enjoy it as I have.

Reading through some of your replies, I see you don't perform publicly due to being too scared. I'm 55 and have played in dozens of cover hands over the years and I still get a case of stage fright before every show. But, as soon as I get 30 secs into the first song it all goes away. You're depriving yourself of the thrill that comes from performing and sharing your talent and depriving Elton fans of hearing your outstanding covers of some of his most beloved songs. His stuff is difficult and complex as you well know. There aren't a lot off people who can sit down and pull of Levon the way you can. From the first notes I was captivated by how well you harnessed the nuances of the song and stayed true to the melody. I also liked the spin you put on the outro, very nice. Well done, sir, well done.
thanks steve... I used to play out when I played guitar but it's taken me awhile to get comfortable enough on the piano to do the same...I am playing now and as you describe, it takes half a minute and then I'm good...cheers!

My dad could play just about anything I could think of on the piano but he rarely did for anyone other than himself. I called it a waste of talent. You sound like a 1970’s EJ, man. Elton is not easy kids, you need to be playing at intermediate to Advanced level to accomplish this.
