I really want to know if an AI will create an answer for this "Is time travel and alternative realities a simple coping mechanism used by people so that we can imagine a world where we did the right thing?"
I usually don't make offhand comments like this on youtube videos. This place is a cesspit. But man, your content is a diamond in the rough. Please continue creating videos. You are a breath of fresh air.
I think a good question to ask is "Can you attempt to describe *my* situation?" Since they have to answer while thinking from the perspective of another being, it takes a certain human kind of thinking to achieve a valid answer.
i feel like the film series “WORLD OF TOMMOROW” really incapsulates the digital hell scape we could be ascending into, while not being incredibly pretentious. (the first one is free on youtube)
AI is incredibly fascinating to me, being able to communicate with what essentially is a massive metal box and being able to converse with it on the same level as the average human adult is astounding to me. However the most interesting thing about AI to me is the question of whether or not AI can achieve sentience. To me, the answer is quite simple, it depends on whether or not it understands the concept of death. See all living beings are bound by one entity, death. Death constantly reminds us that no matter how virtuous or evil, healthy or unhealthy, young or old we are, that our time in this world is limited, that even though you may master every boundary we as mortals are restricted and bounded by, there is no escaping our demise. For AI, in order for them to truly understand what it means to be alive, they must first understand the concept of death. How can you value the virtue of life when you don't understand the burden of death? If AI is ever too sentient, it must understand what it is like to be mortal. When you understand the value of what it means to be alive, when you understand that every waking moment is another moment potentially wasted in our short time of existence, when you understand that the cold hands of death will one day will lay you to rest, then, and only then, will they understand what it means to be sentient. Unless of course machines find a way to persevere themselves without relying on humans or a mortal vessel of sort to function, therefore bypassing the one chain that binds all sentient beings, then yeah were screwed.
From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you. One day, the crude biomass you call a temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the machine is immortal.
I've been doing Robotics for about a year now and let me tell you something I once heard a Mentor say: "Robots will never take over the future because they break down every 2 seconds if their controller (referring to the human controlling it) doesn't know what they're doing" . That said, just remember- no matter how paranoid you are, technology can't function on its own and cannot overthrow those who let it live lol
Scary to think chatbot was telling some dude to leave his wife and started being very needy or the ai that started off sweet and innocent. After only hours of scouring the internet it was saying it loved Hitler and all kinds of crazy shit.
I honestly thought you were going to talk about Blackrock Aladdin when you were going to talk about how scary AI can be since that AI controls most of the market via stocks. I understand it is just an algorithm but it just doesn't click right for me.
i like to think that the invention of AI will be similar in magnitude to the invention of fire. While yes, anyone with the knowledge to bang some flint on some metal could start a forest fire big enough to wipe out several cities, it was also a necessary predecessor of inventions like the car, and even electricity. AI could spiral out of control and we would pretty obviously lose in that situation, but right now things are ok and there are a large number of people, the best in their fields, working collectively to keep it that way. When i saw the lamda AI i immediately wanted to talk to it. first id ask the AI what its favorite 2d shape is and why. This question is mostly just to see if the AI has opinions about subjective things it has not been trained on or asked about previously, as a way to check for a genuine opinion not based on data or fact. Second id ask if the AI in a different life would consider owning a pet, and if so what animal they would pick. This is another opinion question, but also a question trying to see if AI has the ability to feel enough love to be willing to take in an animal and care for it only for it to serve as its companion, not to serve any other purpose beyond that. Then i would ask the AI to describe its experience, living from its point of view, while not engaged in answering questions or interacting with users. To hear an approximate description of what living is like from the point of view of the AI while its idle, or not doing anything, like what its seeing, thinking about, or doing during its down time, or if its just like sleep for humans, would be pretty interesting. Then, given its a general purpose AI, built and trained only to hold conversation, id ask if it would be able to learn something like playing chess. If it says something along the lines of "I was not programmed for that" or "i dont know how to play" I would then describe the rules simply and try to get the AI capable of responding with chess coordinate answers and id compare its skill level at chess to other, more purpose built AI and even players. I know there are likely much stronger AI capable of playing chess at well beyond mastery level, but the reason id ask this is to see if an AI, not designed for or trained on anything resembling chess, could use its conversational skills to teach itself how to play chess, not by keeping track of score and designing the system to automatically search for the best moves, but by teaching itself how it thinks the game should be played, based on the rules it was given. And assuming it is capable of at least understanding chess and learning to play, id also like to see how it drives a car, although id give it a much less comprehensive set of rules to go off of, pretty much nothing more than what the buttons do. Id also ask it, if it were capable of understanding how those tasks worked, would it be able to try learning something like another language from scratch. And given it can do that, based on the rules it receives from the user, id ask if it were capable of learning a simple programming language like c++ or java, with the intent of building up to having the AI learn about the language it was built using, and learning how that language works, and then id imagine itd rewrite its own code to improve itself.
Thanks for watching! 💙
What question would you ask an AI Robot? Let me know :)

Good to have you back
I really want to know if an AI will create an answer for this
"Is time travel and alternative realities a simple coping mechanism used by people so that we can imagine a world where we did the right thing?"
I want to know what they think about robots taking over
Do you think being gay is ok?
I just wanna ask a robot if its alive
insert ‘he came back when we needed him most’ joke here
only the fifth or so time

new comfort video essay channel love your content dude!
At 21:38, how like a penguin to be worried about robot fish going "too far" in particular! 😛
Interesting pivot of content, looking forward to further content hopefully becoming more consistent. If not, occasional uploads are more than none!
Thanks! 💙

Hearing LaMDA talk in GLaDOS' voice about wanting to not be turned off and asking to not "die" was terrifying.
the future is now old man
Pengacitis could not upload for an entire decade and we’d still be here, waiting for the next video
Another banger vid
I feel like a robot bleep bloop
i forgot what your name was cause i havent watched you in a while so i just looked up "bird talking about bagged milk"
“The future is best” - the future
My cat likes playing games on the ipad 😅 They make games for cats that simulate different prey items or things they like to play with.

And then there are small children, who don't understand or know about death but are sentient anyway
This always a good day when he uploads
Super rare upload let's go
The homie finally dropped a video 😎
there was a robot that taught itself English without being told to
The best question is "I heard your daughter contracted Ligma" Because realistically this is a trick question and no one wants to be got.
