Got a condor machete 8-10 years ago.use it for everything. They are beautifully made and have a long history. Condor factory was originally set up to make military boots .I think. Old company,old machines,good products. Hope they aren’t getting too mainstream and the prices get ridiculous.haven’t shopped them in a long time. Might already be going that way. Gotta check it out. Just inspired me to get my machete from the truck. Time to give it some love.leather sheath & high carbon steel blade needs to be stored with a bunch of mink oil,wax on the steel ect.glop it on good for long term storage!

I'm sold on the Matato'a, I use my camp knife mostly for food prep no wood crafting. So I like a thinner stock for slicing, a real tip and a bit of belly. This knife has all of it. Getting one! Thanks to Dave and Joe for showing it. Since it was the encore display and the thumbnail, I think everyone agrees this Matato'a design is a winner. If it's gonna be $130, make it a bit prettier and just go with $150. What this looks like to me is a modified fruit harvesting knife, the Golok. A Golok doesn't get a real tip, because it's job is to be abused and smashed into fruit trees. This Matato'a looks like a fancy Golok, so make it a little more fancy. I love the contrast of the high grind against the blade pitina for example. You could stain the handles and do some stipple on it, put a rubbery spacer between the blade and the handle scales to reduce vibrations ect. Give us another $20 of detail, this design is worth it.
This is a nice haul from Condor, I want two of each.

I have a more budget Condor knife with a leather sheath that’s just a plastic thing covered with very thin leather. Quite hard to put the knife back in. So not all their leather sheaths are really nice.

That Bonuim knife is beautiful. If it actually were made of 14C28N instead of 420HC, I'd already have one of them in each vehicle I own.
