Well, this game is clearly designed for the Amiga - and that's where it looks and sounds the best. The ST version is still pretty good, though. But I'm afraid this game is just too much for the 8-bit computers - those versions are terrible. The 8-bit machines have much better racing games that were designed for their specific hardware.
Amiga version isn't ideal either, but it was a good start in the series. Sequels were better. As for 8-bit systems no one really cared about them in 1990. 8-bit ports were mostly an easy cash grab at this point. Developers were mostly focused on retaining over look of 16-bit version instead on working on gameplay. In this case it would be better to drop trees and other sprites and draw track with cars alone. That way game would run in 20+ fps and it would be much more playable.

This is how the outrun port should have been like. Nice and smooth!
All the memories from my childhood
CD32 version looks and sounds great. Screw Commodore for messing that system up!
The speccy version runs surprisingly great!
they managed to render the music better in CPC and Spectrum than the Atari ST :S
the sound of atari st is terrible, it sounds like an 8 bit computer
Perfect!!!

Amiga CD 32 is the best
Where is the Dos version?
there is no port on Dos , only the 3 (The ultimate challenge)
Amstrad worst (as is often the case) Speccy is faster
Amstrad is better than Spectrum in every single way
@@tonybrian7526 many games were slow to the point of being unplayable.
@@MrYossarianuk yes, speccy ports for the most part, but that's not often the case, there are tons of incredible good games on the system.
