    It is an underdog. But if you have ever ridden its small brother, Versys 650, you will know how well this bike performs. Long and comfy trips made sense by this bike. Performance and reliable . The amazing engine is directly derived from Ninja 1000 but tuned to a lower compression ratio 10.3:1 and tradeoff the peak power for a maximum torque output at a lower RPM. Just another superb bike from Kawa.

    Magnífica montura. Pirineos-Alicante con acompañante y por autopista A-7....700 kms en una etapa. Paradas sólo para comer y repostar. Sin problema. Suave como la seda y el asiento original sin problemas. Es preceptivo hacer bien los ajustes de manillar y estriberas antes de un largo viaje.😊 ✌️✌️ 1:48

    I owned the 650 for a few years and when I was forced to reduce the stable to just one bike I sold everything and went with the Versus 1000 SE. It's the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden and performs brilliantly. Despite having lumbar disc issues I can easily spend 8 hours in the saddle without any issues.

    How tall is the rider?
    I think versys 1000 is lowered than 650 in seat height and ground clearance if im not mistaken

      IDK about clearance but my 1000 SE with electronic suspension feels a little lower than my old Versus. 650. The 650 was a bit narrower though and of course much lighter

    1:32... always easy to park when you have to pee. It's not a C14, and throwing on colorful electronic garbage for $4K more than a C14 won't make it close to one. And it's ugly. It looks like an ecoskeleton insect, the kind you swat. And I'd rather have kick-ass performance on a shaft drive with no cruise control, rather than chain drive with no center stand.

      The V1k has a center stand, you must be angry over how worn out your right hand is holding the throttle on that so called “touring bike” that lacks cruise control because they use 100yr old throttle wire technology. What do you expect, dated technology, dated look….Thankfully, in the US they are putting the old C14 out of it’s misery this year. Ive ridden both, the V1k is superior in every way. Oh and one last thing, and this will make you livid, the V1k has basically more HP per pound at the rear wheel than the c14, man shaft drive power draw is a bitch..
