It would be more meaningful if the subs were separated into SSK, SSN/SSGN, and SSBN. SSKs are going to be the very quietest, much quieter than any SSNs.

There will always be disagreement because every sub on the list can be quieter or noisier that any other on the list depending on the running configuration. Generally battery only is the quietest but speed and duration is the least. A nuclear sub on quiet running with very slow speeds of under 5 knots and passive nuclear reactor cooling can be just as quiet as a diesel electric on battery...and then only slightly noisier when switching to active reactor cooling and higher speeds.

      @@XavierLeFrancais
*_"the classic popular believing that an engine with moving parts is quieter than a reactor without moving parts....funny"_*
Do you understand how a submarine works?
Look, I'll give you a quick rundown. In a conventional, diesel electric submarine the diesels are only used on the surface to charge batteries and for surface running. Underwater, it runs on batteries and uses the electric motors. You couldn't run the diesels underwater because they'd use up all the air onboard and you'd still have to get rid of the exhaust gasses.
On a nuclear submarine, the batteries are charged by a generator powered by a turbine that uses steam generated by the nuclear reactor. And that happens independently of whether it's running on the surface or not.
So, you're probably wondering why the diesel electric is quieter. The fact is that the diesel electric can be completely silent, sitting on the bottom and making zero noise because nothing is running. The nuclear powered submarine can't do that because the pumps have to run continuously to cool the reactor.
Both types of submarines use rafting but even then, there will be sound emissions from the nuclear boat.

*_”make a pump silent is much easier than making an thermal explosion engine quiet.”_*
How quiet you can make a pump is beside the point. You said nuclear boats don’t have moving parts. Now you’re saying pumps are quieter, implying that they do, indeed have moving parts. Apart from that, I’ve already told you, diesel electrics don’t use the diesels underwater. They can run for days without surfacing. Diesel electrics make muck quieter Hunter-killer subs than nuclear boats. Look up the adventures of the Australian submarine, HMAS Waller, which got into the baffles of a Los Angeles class sub off Hawaii and pinged the crap out of it.
I’ve tried to give you the benefit of the doubt here but you’re making it difficult for me to remain polite.

The deadliest sub (and don’t recal him ever saying much so that counts for silence ) was David fairclough the super sub wow that’s going back a long way though I’m sure he was a Liverpool player I think It was so long ago though

It's wank marra. But you will soon have some badass kit. In my honest opinion you're government should try buy both subs offered

American sonarman said that improved kilo is too silent and they find her presence by absence of natural ocean sound.

That's a common tactic: using holes in the back scatter to detect a submarine.
