I own the standard Dactivator and the SH13, both have exactly the same grain, the output level is exactly the same in the ear. With a similar height adjustment, 2.5millimeters, the dactivator sounds with more bass, going up the SH13 to 2 millimeters one recovers its bass and one gets almost the same as the dactivator, the SH13 has a small peak in the mid which makes it a little more aggressive (different agression) a chug. These are the two closest pickups I’ve had in 23 years of guitar.
Hello Mike ! How 're you ? Congrats great comparison today ! Cold steel wins ! As Dimebucker lover, I can say that D'activetor X it's a great pickup. Dimebucker is cleaner than D'AX and you can ear every note ! D'AX is a bit muffed but it got a beefer and thicker tone but I think it's its specs,I mean depends on blades thickness, D'AX is double than Dimebucker, both are ceramic ! Those pickups are born to crunch and crush !
With all the comparisons that you do what would you recommend for a Schecter Exotic Star with a mahogany body and Ebony board? It has the super rock 2 pickups that sound too muddy to me with my setup. I have a PRS MT15 amp with an EVH 5150 III 2x12. I’m looking for passives and my ear tends to prefer almost harsher highs. I have a JB/59 which is my favorite with my setup out of that, EMG actives and kiesel pickups. I have a few I think I like but want to hear what you’d recommend based on the setup I have. I feel like I like Black Winters, Alpha/Omega, X2N and Invaders from what I’ve heard. And I play a variety of stuff but I’m thinking about down tuning this guitar a little to maybe drop C. And recommendations are appreciated

Sounds about right. I bought the D-Activator like a decade ago and it only lasted about a month in my guitar. I hated the thing.
The Deactivator and Deactivator X are two different pickups.
@@nickharper8145 Ya, they sound similar though. Kinda muffled and a little on the bass-mid side.
D-sonic vs video?
