They used chairs, their dance was split into groups with one group wearing a contrasting color uniform, and they used the Dancing Doll Parents. You have to utilize everything to the music to make it effective. Yes the YTDC did splits and stunts and whatnot, but they were just dancing to the music instead of dancing to make their show effective. Judging is split into different categories and the weight of each category is different from others meaning one category is more important than the other. Dianna knows what she has to do to pull out a win and she did just that. Stop hating, go read a book, go watch Dance Moms if you have to, but you're definitely going to stop dissing those Dancing Dolls today!

They utilized the whole floor, they had a variety of outfits, they danced at different levels, the added that solo, gave us some fun with DDP and threw in some excellent acro, and all staying true to the southern majorette soulful style of dance that is so refreshing and unique to them. It's MAJORETTE dance. They're technique doesn't have to be as precise as ballet or jazz or anything like that. These girls are following in the footsteps of The Jackson State Majorettes. They're the type of dance team that you see at half time shows during college football games , the type that do parades and many other things. Majorette is a completely different genre from all of these other dance types that you're naming. If you don't know the details and where these girls and their style of dance comes from, you shouldn't comment at all. If it was so nasty looking, why have almost every single one of them have a scholarship? 😐

I think what Dianna is doing with these girls is amazing. She is showing them things that they have never experienced before, and would not be exposed to otherwise. She is teaching them self-respect, and how to be confident in their abilities, as well as how too shine in a public setting. She is teaching them not to quit. Those of you that are complaining about their technique, their uniforms need to think of something that you could do better with a group of ladies from the same background that these girls have and implement it. Until then shut up and do what you think would be better with your group. I doubt if you do anything though, because all you like to do is sit up and watch others and criticize. Don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution. I congratulate Dianna for what she does with the girls...TIME AND COMMITMENT !!!

There has been soo much growth from these girls and Diana from three years ago. Still a cute routine. It still blows my mind how the girls did a split into a front tumble over the top of the chairs.
It is Majorette Dancing the same dancing you look at on the football field you all just made you can't do it is why you hating you all need to stop it is a different form of dance than Dance Moms and all they do is spin in place
I believe this is it. Dance teams don't usually use the actual artist and usually use covers or spin offs due to copyright reasons, but similar enough that people can still recognize.
It's all about copyright issues, the network does not want 2 have to pay the Beyonce' estate or any other song affiliate estate everytime they use their song, my guess is cuz their price is $$$ and if you use a knockoff you can either get it by a deal (giving them some exposure) or it's a relatively low price.
