We at Vehicle-Virgins™ are a dedicated group of college students here to help you make one of the most important decisions of your life: buying your first car. What sets us apart from other consumer review organizations is our perspective of review; we approach the cars as any kid would, not only as a professional automotive journalist would. We take into account real-world decision factors such as budget, reliability, safety, and maintenance, but we also rate cars on their appeal to a younger market. At 19 and 20 years old, we have spent lots of time looking for our first cars, and we know what appeals to us as well as our friends.

Our mission is to guide individuals in the right direction for their first car. Vehicle-Virgins reviews popular cars that young buyers are in the market for and helps them decide if the car they are looking at is a good choice.
We are lighthearted individuals who are passionate about cars and hope you find our reviews both informative and funny.
    Cheers.

To our knowledge the CLK500 Convertible was available through the 2006 model year, replaced by the CLK550 for 2007. Thanks for the comment!

He could have lowered the roof and tell what's it like to drive.. I own a USspec model CLK350 convertible, that was never exported out of Germany. Now it lives with me in Amsterdam. I think the v6 offers enough power but has way better gasmilage than the 500. In europe they also sold the 280 smaller v6 but most models have the 1.8 4 cilinder compressor engine. I like the sound of the v6 much better. Now, for open top driving, this car is very comfortable as well. You can do 60 miles an hour all day long with the roof down, but sit in the backseat and 30 is max, because the wind will really get you there.

One of the things that caused me to buy the same car as this (even the same color and trim!) was this test drive! Awesome job!

Is there a better audio-nav system that can fit in without making it look aftermarket?

I have fallen in love with my clk350. It is very solidly built. I was a little hesitant giving up a 5.2L for a 3.5L. Living in the city the mpg are awesome with the 350 I get 23 in town and 30 on the highway. It had great power off the line and around town. The 500 and 550 are great for moving quick. I am mostly sitting in stopped to 30 mph traffic so the v6 is just super. All so the maintenance costs and are very reasonable with the 6 opposed to the 8.

if you want a good interior on the cheap, look into the e500 instead of the clk500. it's less pretty on the outside but just as good if not better interior, it tends to be more reliable too

Why do you say the boxster isn't a joy to drive at slow speeds ? I'm actually looking at both cars as a potential purchase within 90 days certainly and while I really like the boxster I'm afraid of it being too rough on my 60 yo neck. So now to see you mention it not being a joy to drive at slow speeds please explain.
