A 30% THC strain gets you paranoid and uncomfortable, but get a 10-18% with a moderate CBD ratio and high terpene content, and it feels great- during AND after.

I hiked the Appalachian trail and stopped at a hostel in NC. drug dealer was volunteering to work there so he could sell and was so high that he spent an hour searching for his cell phone. But he was using the light on his cell phone to search behind the couch for his cell phone.
I lived with a weed dealer during college. I remember being in the kitchen with him and he was trying to make a can of ravioli. He tried to work the can opener for about 3 minutes unsuccessfully before realizing the can was a pull tab.

I had a a funny, outgoing, charismatic, handsome best friend in high school that started to smoke marijuana every single day. 5 years later, after we graduated he still smokes. every. single. day. He is 100% a different person. He doesn’t laugh, he’s serious, not funny, not outgoing, ANGRY, and recently started medications for anxiety and depression. I’ve tried to tell him so many times that his problem is that he’s addicted to marijuana. He won’t listen and I genuinely don’t think he ever will. I miss my friend so much. Thanks for making this. I know it’s light hearted and funny, but people want to ignore how bad marijuana ACTUALLY IS.
@@PoliticalWonderland Weed tends to make me anxious and withdraw over time. Alcohol makes me more social and less anxious. I still smoke sometimes too, but they are different drugs. Alcohol is definitely way worse for me though health wise, and I am aware of the issue there.

It's hard to see when you're in it but, and just my experience, all the things I thought were wrong were because of the drinking. Myself, I can't just have a couple and chill, had to go all out every time, every night. The anxiety/depression/hate/physical maladies/etc, pretty much all disappeared after I quit. Just wanted to say that everything does get better without substances, in my experience. No shame, you do you, just wanted to share.

One thing I’ve noticed about people with addictions. Ok, two things. One. They really want you all to know they’re not addicted. Said my brother with a room covered in empty liquor bottles. Two. Even if they are. They got a damn good reason to be addicted. I’ll even add a third. They are really, really good about judging the addictions of others. It's all about tolerance and state dependent learning. Generally speaking it's not a great idea, but on the other hand some people can handle it just fine. There's no one-size-fits-all.

@@newerest1 yep same. Nothing but smoothies and soups for the first couple of days. Obviously it depends on how much/how often you smoke but after 3-4 days, you should be over the hump. Keys to help the process is light workouts(nothing too crazy), staying hydrated, eating as much as possible(a little bit all the time), and taking some medicine for the sleep

I spent years addicted to both. Got sober/clean in 2020. Best decision of my life, bar none! Everything has turned around for me. Married, new career, new side business, working on kids, awesome church, and I went through a family tragedy without falling into a depression spiral. Never thought it would work out. Couldn't have done it without Christian conversion, which even 'the experts' in psychology land have proven is the most effective way to get sober : )

Im a budtender for a medical facility and I can tell you it's much more than a cashier. Just saying, you don't just get to say "This shits fire" to everyone who comes in. You have to understand a lot of science in order to give correct information to people who are sick. Not to mention the regulation in my state is insane and you have to keep up with a huge amount of changing laws. I understand cannabis isn't for everyone but to try to put this guy down by calling him a "cashier" is kind of fucked imo.
What's the worst is that addiction is contagious. Just a single addict and a few social situations can turn a bunch of people into addicts. A beer at a party turns into drinking with friends turns into nightly drinking turns into day drinking turns into ER visits, which is followed by attempted sobriety, which is ended when the now alcoholic friends come to visit. Alcoholic tries to make new friends by going to a gathering, and the cycle continues with someone else.
Been over six months since I smoked weed, and this sketch had a lot to do with it. Would have been 11 months, but I feel off the wagon over Christmas. Still, my life is 1000% better now. I'm back in school and making straight A's. I'm getting recognized at work and there's a possible promotion for me in the future. I'm working out 5 times a week, and I'm sponsoring a needy child with all the money I'm saving.
On a serious note,... As someone who enjoys both alcohol and marijuana, (in what I consider to be a responsible manner) I would say that when it comes to actual potential for addiction, and harm on the body, alcohol is much MUCH worse. There's no contest really. But when it comes to the culture surrounding the product,.. marijuana is worse,... hands down. Between the hippies and the urban thing, weed culture SUCKS!!! I had to fire a salesman making 6k a month after telling him stop smoking pot before workweek, It made him paranoid, disoriented, and doing stupid things. He said it's the only thing that settles him down so he can sleep. I told him it makes him stupid and I can't tolerate stupid in my business. I can't believe he gave up a good paying job he enjoyed just for a stoke. Last I heard he went off the deep end smoking all day everyday in his mama's basement.

I've smoked weed regularly since the age of 16 and have drank regularly since 23-24 years old (I'm 33 now) and haven't really changed much at all despite now having a wife and 2 kids with a mortgage. Was traveling with family and my cousin is a pothead. We went somewhere where you can't get pot, at least not legally. My cousin ended up burning through his supply in a day so for the rest of the week he's just pissed at everything and slamming doors cause he can't handle anything without being high. Maybe there isn't a chemical dependence on weed, but if you need to be high or drunk to handle everything, you might have a problem. In fairness to potheads and alcoholics I've known a lot of people who embody the "don't talk to me until I've had my coffee" meme/slogan. Fact is there's a lot of addictive behavior in the world that no one wants to talk about.
For sure, there's all types of dependencies. Whether substances or material things. Hell I'd like to be comfortable all day too but life is about pursuing, gaining and losing sometimes. He'll get over it.

I had a a funny, outgoing, charismatic, handsome best friend in high school that started to smoke marijuana every single day. 5 years later, after we graduated he still smokes. every. single. day. He is 100% a different person. He doesn’t laugh, he’s serious, not funny, not outgoing, ANGRY, and recently started medications for anxiety and depression. I’ve tried to tell him so many times that his problem is that he’s addicted to marijuana. He won’t listen and I genuinely don’t think he ever will. I miss my friend so much. Thanks for making this. I know it’s light hearted and funny, but people want to ignore how bad marijuana ACTUALLY IS.

@@PoliticalWonderland Weed tends to make me anxious and withdraw over time. Alcohol makes me more social and less anxious. I still smoke sometimes too, but they are different drugs. Alcohol is definitely way worse for me though health wise, and I am aware of the issue there.

It's hard to see when you're in it but, and just my experience, all the things I thought were wrong were because of the drinking. Myself, I can't just have a couple and chill, had to go all out every time, every night. The anxiety/depression/hate/physical maladies/etc, pretty much all disappeared after I quit. Just wanted to say that everything does get better without substances, in my experience. No shame, you do you, just wanted to share.

One thing I’ve noticed about people with addictions. Ok, two things. One. They really want you all to know they’re not addicted. Said my brother with a room covered in empty liquor bottles. Two. Even if they are. They got a damn good reason to be addicted. I’ll even add a third. They are really, really good about judging the addictions of others. I've known a lot of stoners in my life and they're all in denial about being addicted and that it has a negative impact on their life. It's almost like a religion for them. I'd be genuinely surprised to meet a stoner who can say "yeah, it's not good to smoke weed multiple times a day." Another thing they all say is "I don't even get high, it has no effect on me." If that were true then why do you even do it in the first place? lol

@@orangeblood307 I used to smoke daily and never had any issues driving stoned. However, I quit for many years and when I partake now I absolutely wouldn't drive. It's all about tolerance and state dependent learning. Generally speaking it's not a great idea, but on the other hand some people can handle it just fine. There's no one-size-fits-all.

@@newerest1 yep same. Nothing but smoothies and soups for the first couple of days. Obviously it depends on how much/how often you smoke but after 3-4 days, you should be over the hump. Keys to help the process is light workouts(nothing too crazy), staying hydrated, eating as much as possible(a little bit all the time), and taking some medicine for the sleep

I spent years addicted to both. Got sober/clean in 2020. Best decision of my life, bar none! Everything has turned around for me. Married, new career, new side business, working on kids, awesome church, and I went through a family tragedy without falling into a depression spiral. Never thought it would work out. Couldn't have done it without Christian conversion, which even 'the experts' in psychology land have proven is the most effective way to get sober : )

Im a budtender for a medical facility and I can tell you it's much more than a cashier. Just saying, you don't just get to say "This shits fire" to everyone who comes in. You have to understand a lot of science in order to give correct information to people who are sick. Not to mention the regulation in my state is insane and you have to keep up with a huge amount of changing laws. What's the worst is that addiction is contagious. Just a single addict and a few social situations can turn a bunch of people into addicts. A beer at a party turns into drinking with friends turns into nightly drinking turns into day drinking turns into ER visits, which is followed by attempted sobriety, which is ended when the now alcoholic friends come to visit. Alcoholic tries to make new friends by going to a gathering, and the cycle continues with someone else.
Been over six months since I smoked weed, and this sketch had a lot to do with it. Would have been 11 months, but I feel off the wagon over Christmas. Still, my life is 1000% better now. I'm back in school and making straight A's. I'm getting recognized at work and there's a possible promotion for me in the future. I'm working out 5 times a week, and I'm sponsoring a needy child with all the money I'm saving.

On a serious note,... As someone who enjoys both alcohol and marijuana, (in what I consider to be a responsible manner) I would say that when it comes to actual potential for addiction, and harm on the body, alcohol is much MUCH worse. There's no contest really.

I had to fire a salesman making 6k a month after telling him stop smoking pot before workweek, It made him paranoid, disoriented, and doing stupid things. He said it's the only thing that settles him down so he can sleep. I told him it makes him stupid and I can't tolerate stupid in my business. I can't believe he gave up a good paying job he enjoyed just for a stoke. Last I heard he went off the deep end smoking all day everyday in his mama's basement.

I've smoked weed regularly since the age of 16 and have drank regularly since 23-24 years old (I'm 33 now) and haven't really changed much at all despite now having a wife and 2 kids with a mortgage. Well, I don't get hammered anymore to be honest except for on special occasions but I certainly smoke more weed.

There is a video where Terence talks about how he used cannabis to generate new ideas for books but when it actually came down to it writing his best work came from a sober mind fueled by high thoughts… the people who smoke weed and allow it to destroy their lives were probably destined to be losers from the jump, everything in life is a lesson if you are wise enough to learn, an addiction to anything is unhealthy for Brain chemistry, even love can be detrimental to one’s life if it becomes obsessive and compulsive

Was traveling with family and my cousin is a pothead. We went somewhere where you can't get pot, at least not legally. My cousin ended up burning through his supply in a day so for the rest of the week he's just pissed at everything and slamming doors cause he can't handle anything without being high. Maybe there isn't a chemical dependence on weed, but if you need to be high or drunk to handle everything, you might have a problem.
In fairness to potheads and alcoholics I've known a lot of people who embody the "don't talk to me until I've had my coffee" meme/slogan. Fact is there's a lot of addictive behavior in the world that no one wants to talk about.
