*DREAMCATCHER* ... Yay.. you finally got to them. This group have some songs that touch on social and environmental issues. This was a great start, being the 1st video in a trilogy #1 - "SCREAM" - is about being bullied and not having anyone to help. Being frustrated to the point you want to SCREAM #2 - "BOCA" - is about fighting back against the bullying and trying to close the MOUTH (BOCA in Spanish ) of the bully #3 - "ODD EYE" - is about searching for a utopia, where there are no issues, everyone lives in harmony but not finding it.
This is arguably their most popular video/song. Not my personal favorite, or even close but it hits pretty hard. Boca is the next song in the trilogy which also slaps. They have so many good songs though. The music writers play around with genres a lot and the girls really keep up vocally. You can't miss with Dreamcatcher if you liked this at all. More please!

The Beatles were enhancified by George Martin, and DC is the same. They (Ollounder and LEEZ) and the Ladies have a clear direction they wish to pursue, and it's great to see. And hear. Next is BOCA (Spanish for mouth) highlights the tremendous vocals.
ALMOST their entire career...between LEEZ and Ollander, one of them left DCC fairly recently, at least before 'OOTD'. My memory is crap so I can't remember which one left and which one stayed. But LEEZ and Ollander also work with another big group, Ateez, so lots of people compare the sounds of the two groups a lot. The producers have their own signature style, which is tangible between groups.
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.

Dreamcatcher's main songwriters/producers LEEZ & Ollounder, just by what I've noticed in some of their songs, evidently have some background in classical music. Those two guys, by the way, I believe are among the BEST songwriters/producers in world. They've also written and produced for the boy group ATEEZ. If you ever decide to check them out then I'd start with "Guerilla." You won't be disappointed.

I am very happy that Coach and Mrs. Coach have discovered Dreamcatcher. I grew up on Classic Rock and Classic Metal (I'm about ya'lls age I believe) and dream catcher was the first K-Pop group that I discovered. They are still my absolute favorite. Their discography is extensive, and they have many styles of songs. Next video should be Boca, then Odd Eye to finish the Dystopia Trilogy. Then I Suggest going all the way back to their beginning and doing their Nightmare series starting with Chase Me, then Good Night, then Fly High, You and I, What and finally Piri. Note that some people start with Fly High because it is a sort of prequel to the series. Also, Breaking Out is an alternative ending you could do after Piri and is actually one of my favorite songs. Their newest Trilogy is Maison, Vision and Bon Voyage. Their B side songs are better than some groups A sides in my opinion. I want to thank both of you for enhancifying my day and I hope you like Dreamcatcher and do more reactions to their videos.

This song is about bullying - they start out talking about being bullied, then - there are different takes on this, but, to me, one of the members succumbs to the syndrome that people who are abused tend to become abusers. A lot of people take it that, at the end, they're talking about not taking the abuse anymore and standing up for themselves. I appreciate that you enhancified your position on the fan wars stuff. Most Kpop fans are so tired of all of the negativity.

I think I became an insomnia around the time Scream came out, since then I've seen them live three times stateside, twice in Chicago and again in Cincinnati. And to be honest Scream is one of the most enhancifying songs of theirs to hear in person.
It's fine to start with Scream, though even Dreamcatcher's leader JiU recommends their debut Chase Me as the song to use for introducing people to them. Scream was the least rock-influenced title track up to this point, but really enhancified their sound for the masses 😂 Boca and Odd Eye are the other 2 songs in the Dystopia trilogy for this one. After that (or whenever you decide) I highly recommend to go back to the beginning with Chase Me.
Next up is Boca! What I will say about their usage of rock is it's almost always incorporated with some other genre (Scream in particular gives me EDM vibes.) And, yes, Dreamcatcher has TONS of talent! Hopefully once you finish the trilogy you're loving Dreamcatcher enough that we can start recommending live performances so you can really see how much these ladies BRING IT lol. I've studied foreign languages for 35 years (Spanish, Arabic, German, and Chinese), and I can tell you from having spoken with many, many foreigners that one of the quickest ways to reach a person's heart is just by demonstrating that you're willing to be generous and brave enough to attempt even just a word or two in their language. It's a big deal to them.
Favourite of all favourite groups.... They're just so unique... While their title tracks are mainly dominated by some rock influenced sound, their collection of b-sides are the entire music genre spectrum.... They literally go from the most beautiful ballad, to the most epic head banging song. I genuinely recommend for you to watch some of their special clips/b-sides or covers, not only they showcase their vocal abilities more, it's also just that good. Worthy to mention, as a Female group, they're one of the most talented dancers, with very intricate and powerful choreos. Its a treat for the eyes...

It's always funny to me when Dreamcatcher fans tell new folks DC has a rock influenced sound, and then suggest Scream, which is more of an EDM sound. I love DC, and I love Scream, but it's not really the most "rock" DC song. But good music is good music I guess.
funfact in scream and boca the mv had a masked dancer representing handong who was appearing on a chinese show in 2020 and the lockdown hit so she was stuck in china for a bit and it odd eye she officially returned(she’s chinese that’s why she appeared on the show!)

I did like this. A little different from any of the other K-Pop bands we've seen so far. This group feels a little more 'grown-up', helped by the high-quality production, and not only the song, but also the dramatic backdrop.

Dreamcatcher is a representative case of idol groups growing in the KPOP market. It's also interesting to see their changes.

'scream' combines edm and rock. it's the first part of their dystopia trilogy which is a criticism of social media. more specifically it address online hate/bullying. the trilogy continues with 'boca' and concludes with 'odd eye'.

Boca (yes, Spanish for mouth) is next, then Odd Eye. Some of their older songs (Chase Me, Goodnight, Red Sun) are really worth a listen as well as newer songs like Maison. They never disappoint. (Do focus on the lyrical theme across Scream, Boca, Odd Eye. They're saying something important.)

They're just so unique... While their title tracks are mainly dominated by some rock influenced sound, their collection of b-sides are the entire music genre spectrum....
They literally go from the most beautiful ballad, to the most epic head banging song.
I genuinely recommend for you to watch some of their special clips/b-sides or covers, not only they showcase their vocal abilities more, it's also just that good.
Worthy to mention, as a Female group, they're one of the most talented dancers, with very intricate and powerful choreos. Its a treat for the eyes...

I've been hoping you'd react to Dreamcatcher. You were not put wrong, this is the place to start. The trilogy is 'Scream', 'BOCA' and lastly 'Odd Eye' and in my opinion they get better as they go.
Yes! welcome to the most underappreciated fandom in Korea! I really think most of the fandom is not based in Korea since their music style is not usual and popular in Korea (but if we get in to detail some groups like Xdinary heroes get hyped in Korea from time to time but they are from the "big 3" company JYP and also they are an all male group, the image of females get more attention if the concept is more girly and cute) Their albums are so unique and I hope you will give them a listen. the B side contains many genres like jazz, EDM, ballads and much more!
Many of their Japanese released music is much more heavier since it's more popular in Japan :)

It's always funny to me when Dreamcatcher fans tell new folks DC has a rock influenced sound, and then suggest Scream, which is more of an EDM sound. I love DC, and I love Scream, but it's not really the most "rock" DC song. But good music is good music I guess.
funfact in scream and boca the mv had a masked dancer representing handong who was appearing on a chinese show in 2020 and the lockdown hit so she was stuck in china for a bit and it odd eye she officially returned(she’s chinese that’s why she appeared on the show!)

I did like this. A little different from any of the other K-Pop bands we've seen so far. This group feels a little more 'grown-up', helped by the high-quality production, and not only the song, but also the dramatic backdrop.
