We are so happy we got to visit Mr. Shimomae again! 🙌🏼 Some of you were wondering why his age has not changed since we originally filmed with him a few years ago. Well, each year Mr Shimomae asks us to update his age in the TH-cam video title to reflect his current age ❤😊 You can watch the original video we filmed with him here👇🏼 th-cam.com/video/UPpE7lKyyZI/w-d-xo.html
Harry I see you don’t care about your fans to answer my question or anything i comment on your videos but you can like every one else comment but mine I see how it is
Hello - thank you for watching & commenting 🙏🏼 So happy we got to visit Mr. Shimomae again since it's been a few years since we last saw him! Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to all the TH-cam comments :(
I love japanese barbers because they are amazing workers and they work as long as they can, they really don't retire unless it is absolutely necessary.. my regular barber in Ireland is 84 years old, he is really old school, wash hair before haircut, hot towel shave after with straight razor, the whole barber experience. he's fantastic.. i love how his shop smells, you get a smell of brut, old spice, shaving cream, It's just an amazing experience. Surprised harry missed him on his visit here.
These old guys are often hard to find, but we can add him to our list of possible shops! You can message us the details via our website 👉🏼 haircutharry.com/contact/ Please include the shop name, address, and why you think it is a good location to feature on Haircut Harry. 🙏🏼
@maidenaholic.. I used to get haircuts from an old school beautician.. she was well in her 70s .. and did better than the barbers in our area although she didn’t shave me , she gave me a razor cut once . She had an older lady there helping her that shampooed me very thoroughly before the haircut .I just didn’t care for the perm smell and hairspray in there .. quite a difference from a barber shop .. I was a bit nervous at first and a little embarrassed being the only 30 yr. old guy in a “ grandma” beauty shop with geriatrics but I couldn’t of asked for a better haircut from the barbers back then. Something about the old school professionals you can’t find anymore. .
I continue to appreciate how you showcase the beauty and artfulness of barbering around the world. Each different but each genuine in the art they create.
Mr. Shimomae looks so serious and silent, just because he is already very old. Monotonous work, constant narrowly focused view. Alas, nothing good awaits him, he had to retire at least 3 years ago and give way to the young.
I always freaked out when I saw the mirror trickery and always wondered why no one else commented on this but happy to read in the comments someone pointing this out. Such a fan of these vids keep ‘em coming Harry !! 😌🙏🏽✂️
What an amazing display of old school Japanese Barbering skills. Thank You Harry for helping keep these amazing barbers and their traditions alive! ♥👍💈✂
More mirror tricks. Brilliant. Always good to see two vids from the same barber. We get to see their full set of skills. You hid it too well Harry. These vids are for relaxation, not treasure hunting.😂
Every time i watch one of your videos i get so jealous that i dont have a full head of hair anymore. I remember when i was younger i always loved the feeling of getting my haircut. Love the videos harry and will always watch
We used to get a scrubbing like that when my brother and I were young boys .. at the kitchen sink, our grandmother would shampoo our hair squeaky clean just like this .
I get a forward shampoo like this at the barber shop that I frequently go to and it's so good. I have it after my beard trim and haircut. It's an old school barbers, opened back in 1990, but they're really methodical.
The hair washing tub is so old school I’m in awe of it!!! Reminded me of my first record player.. pulled the handle down and there was the turntable. ❤
I visited the doctor for my insomnia, and guess what? The prescription he gave me wasn't a pill or anything. Nope, he said, "Watch Harry haircut's videos." So now, apparently, you're my official sleep remedy!
This is what I crave for in a haircut. Attend to detail, pride in craftsmanship, not being on your phone, not mouthbreathing the events of last nights professional wrestling performance into my ear at a tyrannical volumn. You know, little things.😊
@michaelpoen-zs4dk... we got scrubbed like this when we were kids … my first time in a unisex shop I had my first “ salon “ hair wash. I’ll never forget it, I was rather embarrassed since I was getting my hair washed by a lady older than my grandmother.. she was a bit aggressive shampooing me but I did get a nice haircut.
I have alway like how HairCut Harry showcases the Barbers. It is not about HH but the barbers, and their barber shops. I particularly like to watch the technique these barbers have, The scissor vs the clipper, the straight razor vs the Sharpett etc.
@HairCutHarry actually you were one of the first people I watched once I learned asmr. First was 3d binary haircuts and then I remember seeing your first video soon after. Then I became a fan. Over the years, you got rid of music(most of us didn't like it), you added interviews(miss it harry) and made longer videos(more work). All for us. It's been awesome to see you be able to travel the world with mystery woman helping us sleep, relax or learn about being a barber. Ive watched so many of your videos that I even know what a SOC is. Lol thanks Harry. Seriously. I think I speak for thousands that you are awesome. Also, shout out to your hair lol without it, well. We have only shaving videos lol
Love that you have been with us since the early days and have seen the changes! You are right, you guys did not like the music and wanted longer videos :) We always think about our first video being filmed in India in 1999... I always enjoyed that video but never imagined it would lead to this! 🙌🏼❤️
@@HairCutHarry I prefer no music as well BUT you did have some great videos that had music but were great. The Peru scissor cut comes to mind. The scissors were so loud that it didn't matter. Its been great to watch the channel grow through the years. You didn't think the India video would amount to anything and yet, you have a giant youtube channel because of it. Just a guy getting a haircut, traveling the world lol
Una cosa que he visto yo es que las primeras imágenes que salen en el espejo no son las reflejadas por el peluquero parece que las que proyecta el espejo van adelantadas
Great video really enjoy this guy he knows his stuff. Out of interest with the hairwash why does he scrub the scalp so rough? Is this to help stimulate the scalp somehow?
Hello Harry, I follow your videos with pleasure..🙏🏼 From the 25th to the 41st seconds, it seems that Mr. Sheomae and the person in the mirror are not the same. Is this a camera error? If not, the matrix is changing and they are among us, my friend, and this is pleasing.. 🙏🏼

“Not rejecting people who come, not chasing after people who leave is best.” What an advice! Thank you Shimomae-san for your amazing service.
He has the most old school high tech shop i have ever seen. This shop must've been state of the art back in the day.
this man deserves everything. he was so professional and calm. it was so relaxing to watch, come back again to him asap!
You found the video!! 🙌🏼 Don’t forget to leave us a comment as well! 🙏🏼
What did you have to do to find this video? Looks like I missed some sort of treasure hunt 👀

It's so wonderful to see someone of this age working so hard. I have nothing but utmost respect for him
Mr. Shimomae looks so serious and is silent and Harry is his normal stoic self. It's like the perfect ASMR barbering match!!

Mr. Shimomae, wish you good health and happiness.
His movements are so smooth 🥶 the embodiment of practice makes you perfect

I love the sink! They have the coolest things in Japan! Great video! Thank you and blessings, Harry 😁🙏
I am not the only one who was impresed by the sink.... Love it.
Restoring my faith in humanity, one video at a time. 👏🏻
No sabía que era esa cajuela hasta que la abrió y es una lavatorio para lavar el cabello!.Que genio!.
Those fold into the wall sinks are really cool. I see a lot of them in barbering videos from this part of the world, are they very common?
What a wonderful way to end my day watching this is so relaxing. Can’t wait for the next one!
Shimomae-san and Angel from route 66 are the true masters. Would have liked to have seen these two in their prime!

A beautiful video for a Monday night sleep
Love the hair styling aspects in these videos
Same wish the styling was longer and no hair dryer lol
I always wondered, every time I saw the old video, about what those huge white tables/desks are. Now i know they are sinks/wash basins. Wow!
Haven’t even seen the full video, but I know it’ll be amazing. Keep up the good work. This barber is amazing.
