  • Albatrosses belong to fascinating kind of birds known as soaring birds. The albatross flight physics has captured the interests of biologists, physicists, engineers, and applied mathematicians for their magnificent flight maneuver/technique known as Dynamic Soaring (DS), which enables them to fly almost for free and with barely feeling the need to flap their wing; they acquire lift from the wind itself. In this video, we explain our hypothesis that dynamic soaring is an Extremum Seeking System Manifestation in nature.

    The first paper I read on this was an IBM scientific article in 1970. I showed the article to a student who later used the technique to fly her glider along the the Colorado mountain range.

    I think these are good videos but I think the robot voice seems amateur, even though I know the content is quality.
