    I most enjoyed many of the things you disliked about this game and that’s fascinating. In the end though we share much the same appreciation for what this game is in totality.
    The infodumps at the end of the game, the standing around watching holograms, and the lore of the old world was my absolute favorite part of the entire experience as I had spent my playthrough driven by my desire to see the bigger picture of what could explain how this world came to be the way that it is. I was completely consumed by it and for me all of that stuff was the payoff for all that I’d done to get there. Silens’s impatient, cold and logical approach to things contrasted the heart in the rest of the story, and his almost machine-like disposition was for me a plus. I enjoy how he contrasts Aloys altruism with blunt practicality. It’s much the reason he was always able to be one step ahead of her. I definitely saw more to his character than you did.
    Lastly the one thing we can all agree on is Ted Musk being perhaps the worst person of all fictional time.

    Same same! I never understood the hate. This game strikes the perfect balance in open world games. The game mechanics are varied. The weapon combinations are great. The “beauty in destruction” when you see the old structures overgrown is very well executed. The story is great with thought out characters. Great voice-acting and graphics. Taking down a mechanical T-Rex with a bow needs no further explanation.

    I started playing HZD November 2024 for the first time having owned the game since Sony gave it to us for free as part of the “Stay at Home” initiative in 2020.
    I had also previously passed on the games initial launch in February 2017 like many did in anticipation of 1. The Switch launch/ 2. Zelda BotW.
    I don’t regret this choice, I just wish HZD had released earlier or much later than BotW to avoid this choice.
    Anyway, having now 100% Zero Dawn and Forbidden West I can NOT wait for Horizon 3 and am actually quite pumped for the Horizon movie announcement too, I slept on this franchise for too long but not anymore, I am ready

    One of few games I consider playing more than 1 time. The storytelling, the visuals, the enchanting music, the feeling you get of exploring playing it.. A travel to another world, yet get some familiarity. Excitement, the feeling of achievement, the beauty of the world! No games like it..
    I consider so far Zero Dawn the best storytelling of the two, but I haven’t 100% finished FW yet. Or played burning shores. I need something to look forward to.. while we wait on the third installment of the series. It’s my soothing game, my escape on rough days.. Like visiting friends, that comfort.
    I’d love a HBO continious-series..
    The world could be another Game of Thrones universe, with multiple spinoffs.. It’s my dream!
    This game series feels purpose built for people like me. I love it! ❤

    After I finished Zero Dawn, I removed the HUD and never looked at the map again. I just free-roamed for months; it was an entirely different experience. I managed to earn 94% of the trophies without even realizing it! After countless hours, I eventually stopped playing, but you can't imagine how excited I was for Forbidden West. I began to envision all the new features they would add, how dynamic the world would be, and the epic new interactions we would have with the robots.
    While the game was good-very good-it felt more like Horizon 1.5 with better graphics and a weaker story. Then the DLC was released, but only for PS5. I thought, “Okay, the limitations of the PS4 held them back from fully realizing their vision and capabilities. Now we’ll finally see a truly dynamic world.” What did we get? Advanced clouds. At this point, I’ve given up on Guerrilla Games and the future of Horizon.

    You mock the ability to pick up traps.... just try littering an entire field with 50 traps and wires, triggering a stampede of docile machines and a charging thunderjaw. Perch on a hillside and watch as they trip and fall and freeze and explode.
    Take out the quivering thunderjaw. Stroll across the field, retrieving the unused traps and all the machine parts your wallet could desire. You don't need to slow down time or shoot triple arrows.... traps will handle it. Sit back and relax.
    This method of cheesing hunts was so good that they removed it entirely in HFW. Limit to 4 traps, maybe 8 or 10 with a dedicated build. Nonsense. Outrageous.

    • @berice4390
      @berice4390  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I get the joy of being able to cheese things. But for me if the nerfs make the game more engaging I think it’s a fair trade off? I haven’t played forbidden west for years but I’ll make note of that when I work on a video for it.

      @@berice4390 HFW is a great game, I loved some improvements and mourned some changes. My biggest complaint with both games though is actually the UI for managing mods and coils. I wish they'd give us a rational, sortable lists instead of picture tables with a million abstract icons. 😭
      (they also nerfed corruption arrows and replaced them with that heart effect which never seems to function right).

    Nice video! To me, the characters are boring, especially Aloy and the story is told poorly. I don’t think the dialogue choices do enough for Aloy’s character development. There’s so much about the game that frustrates me. Yet, the game is beautiful, feels good to play, and has some great ideas. I’ve spent hundreds of hours across both games and DLCs. By far my most played first party game. I’ve never felt this way about a game before

    • @berice4390
      @berice4390  22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

  • @Threesixtyci
    @Threesixtyci 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    I like the game play.. .Story side quests are ehh. Dialog wheel is pointless, All it does it change the dialog dump order and often, in a non sensical flow if you don't select the stuff in an order where it kinda flows together. And... your mood choices don't matter. Also, second game... she's becomes a mean sarcastic Lesbian, no matter what you pick and all white men are mustache twirling villains.

    • @berice4390
      @berice4390  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I think the ‘issues’ you point out with the dialogue wheel can be pertained to a few other games. I still believe it doesn’t diminish the points I made about aloy as a character they are just additions that while not making a major difference they highlight sides of aloy to make her a more well rounded character. They don’t need to be radically different as they all represent how the writers made aloy.
      I think labeling her character as a ‘mean lesbian’ completely diminishes a lot especially when at the end of the second game she is friends with multiple tribes and becomes closer to people. As I said in this video her attitude towards people is justified given the way she has been treated. It’s something that’s heavily explored in the game. I think you are missing key contexts in regards to that claim.
