    ¡Qué bueno! ¡Ahí está Lorenita! ¡Qué alegría! Most folks have no idea what the reality is for EV charging. I'm glad you showed the graph for the Ioniq 6, as it is nearly identical to what I am getting in my spanking brand new Ioniq 5. Yes, you guessed right what I would replace my Model 3 with.

      ¡Sí, aquí estoy! 😁 Ah yes the Ioniq 5, good choice 👍🏼

    So after long consideration I placed my order for the M3 LR I went for a test drive today and the car was quiet, comfortable. It is very fast. I don't need a performance, I never go to the track, l don't drive more than 75 on Freeway, 50 on city streets and I don't want to worry about driving over potholes and ruining my rims and LR has better range. Glad I'm officially part of Tesla family. First EV. Stealth Grey black interior. Phoenix Arizona 🎉🎉

    Love your channel. When people ask how long does it take to charge, they are showing a lack of knowledge of EVs. I try to start my answer with, by charging at home, I can have a full battery every day.
    This is the most common charging scenario and key for ICE drivers to begin to understand the difference with EVs.
    Next, I state that on my 750 mile single day drive to Florida, I stop about 5 times for 15-20 minutes each.
    Then, if they are still interested, I'll move on to cost ($4=100mi charging at home), fast charging more expensive, Tesla(😊) vs. CCS(😢), NACS future, charge rates, battery health, available free charging, etc.

    Great EV videos! ⚡️
    While keeping the SoC between 20-80% is best for most battery chemistries, the LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) are recommended to 100% regularly.

    One thing I just thought of is on the charging curve to put time. For example 5 or 10 minutes colored blocks.

    Funny that you showed a Mercedes EV charging while you mentioned "people may be waiting" if you charge to 100%. I just took a 1200 mile road trip in my XC40 Recharge and never charged to more than 82% at EA DCFCs, but one occasion I needed to wait over 30 minutes just to get my 27 minute charge because three!!! Mercedes EQS drivers insisted on charging to 100% before I was able to get an open station - there was an also a Bolt EV charging there. At least all the stations were putting out full power.

    I hope this isn't such a dumb question that it brings out *peals* of laughter, but I have NO direct EV experience, so here I go: Is it possible to drive off with your car still plugged in? I would think it would be trivial to prevent that, but I've never heard it actually discussed. And hey, after all, you can drive off with the gas pump hose still in the tank, right? Or do ICE cars have lockouts for that now, too?

    • @CallasEV
      @CallasEV  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The car can detect the presence of the cable even if there's no power to the plug. So far I haven't seen a car that will let you shift into drive or reverse while plugged in.

    Where I live, gasoline is $4 per gallon and electricity is 44¢ per kwh. It takes about 25 kwh for an electric car to go 100 miles, therefore the Prius at 55 mpg is much less expensive to run....7¢ per mile with the Prius vs 11¢ for a typical electric car. Wait, there's more; the Prius pays a road tax of 70¢ per gallon in my state (state and federal gas tax). Electric cars currently pay zero gas tax. That clearly has to change. The Prius is much lighter so less wear and tear on the roads.

      Mr Snapon let me guess, big Trump supporter, right? - Gee how’d I know? Do your ignorant self a favor and go RENT a Model Y on Turo for a day of two and you’ll finally see the light. - But make sure you study up and understand how to charge at home and what Tesla Superchargers are. Hint: They are like Electric gas stations
