@@Zoe-dr5ps thank you so much really glad you enjoyed! When I first flew I was also scared but I just thought about how often crashes actually happen and that it's really unlikely to happen and that's how I managed to fly and hence get an interest in aviation
V much depends, more common in the US than in Europe, but with the conditions in Manchester being snowy, icy and barely scraping 0°, wouldn't be surprised if they had to avoid a water salute because of the weather conditions! Might get one for its final send off on Wednesday when it flies down to South Wales for scrapping 💔
Water Salute is more common for like a flaghship arrival or to mark a milestone. Never really see water salutes for departures though and they're unlikely to do it in St Athan
