So glad you were able to come back and live your dream!
I’ve just started my extension year as an au pair with the same family here in Texas!

This is random, but I really hope that I can get some sort of a reply...when you master more than one language, like you have, do you still think in your first language and then translate it before you then structure your sentence? Or does it all come to you in the language that you are using in that situation?

Hi! I'm not beni, but i'm gonna try to answer bcs i too am fluent in more than 1 languages (indonesian, english, and a couple of other local languages). To me personally it comes either way. Because i understand both languages i don't have to mentally translate it from indonesian to english. But there are times when i think in english and an indonesian phrase slips out, because it fits the situation better. Sometime it can be translated to english, but it could also change the meaning or the context a little bit. In that case, it will be a bit challenging to communicate with someone who speak only indonesian or only english because i have to carefully translate it so that i don't give the wrong idea
