It's a pretty basic flame for you. For me it looks amazing! I will practice following your guide but it will take time to get even close to that. Thanks for your videos, so well explained and clear!!
Your flame technique videos are the best. I'm still struggling with the technique myself, but it's getting better, and reviewing your videos always inspire me to keep pushing myself.
all artists have tools. yours are simple yet extremely effective. thank you for this tutorial. im not artistic at all but im hopeing your lessons can help. i just got a whole kit for christmas.
Nice flames. I love flames, I’ve been drawing them since as far back as I can remember. I got myself an airbrush a few months ago to build a 32 Ford 5 window coupe model that my son bought me a while back. I’ve been watching all your video’s and I have learned so much. I’m at the point that I’m confident enough to start practicing flames now. I am so excited. This video is my first homework assignment to myself. Thank you for all your help Howard
Good luck, Im sure you will do an amazing job...green fire always looks great, feel free to use this tutorial to help : th-cam.com/video/qAnBQlwjqnA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OyW2VGaNM6g69d5y
You make everything look so easy.😂 love your videos on cleaning your airbrush and being able to take it apart properly and back together again. Keep up the good work you’re awesome.
Oh yea!! Love all ur tutorials but especially ur fire ones. Idk how many times I’ve watched all ur others since I started 3 years ago. Keepin it simple but with a finished product that doesn’t look simple. I’d like to see u do another one w skulls in the fire like u done the purple back ground that u did as a sample for the hot rod a few years back. But w a black background
Thanks for the comment and glad you liked it and no issue at all re : some skulls within fire , I’ll put it on the list and get something out in the not too distant future 👍🏻🤘🏻🔥
It's like Bob Ross picked up an airbrush and said, " And here I'm just going to make some happy little flames... damnation for heathens...and some pure whiteness to add depth to evil's perpetual damnation'!!! Sir! I am so inspired! I will never reach a level close to yours, my airbrushness travels a different path but I am so glad i found your channel!!! Thank you!
U know I have always appreciated your videos. Informative and easy to follow...and of course mad respect for your skills. I just wish when someone did true fire they'd take the time in their videos to explain WHY they are doing what they do...why the flame needs to go from wide to thin and how that creates the illusion. I'm adding a luck here because of the flow of the fire and that it needs to be this way to create the illusion to the eye. I've spent far too much time time trying to recreate what I see without any real knowledge as to why things are the way they are and never really achieving a decent result because the basic understanding isnt there nor taught. Practuce... practice practuce... but if you continue to do it the same way (because you dont know any better) u dont learn, u just repeat the same mistakes over and over. Any thought or help on this? Thanks a.a.
Thank you, appreciate the comment and totally understand the feedback and your point of view. Fire is a difficult one to explain as most of the time I don’t really know why I’m putting a lick here or a tail there 🤷♂️ it just happens on the surface , as I mentioned imagine the fire before starting and if necessary get some reference images , but as far as technique it will develop the more you do it …I remember my first fire attempt looked like seaweed lol 😂 I hope that provides some info even if I can’t answer it 100% , I also have in the past urged students to draw fire with a pencil just so they can get the ‘flow’ in their heads 🔥🔥
Great video 👍 ... Just a quick question..I was just wondering why you used a ps 289 and the eclipse and not just one or the other ? Theres only .5 difference between needles ? ... Sorry I'm a complete noob to airbrushing and I own a eclipse but I just seem to have endless problems with it everytime I pick it up ... Mainly the air sticking on .. I've cleaned and cleaned it even stripping the air assembly multiple times .. and was looking to replace it with the creos ps289 .. hence the question ... Any help would be appreciated 👍.. thanks and keep up the good work
Both brushes are fantastic the eclipse is a workhorse and the PS.289 has the added benefit of the M.A.C valve which will allow for more detail of your mix your paint right and dial in the airflow on the Mac valve. In regards to your sticky trigger take a look at this video which should help 👉🏻th-cam.com/video/7qIq2tYbm2g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vEbZH7QkFDZ0tzBS
I’m curious, do you even need templates? It was already looking like fire to me on your first pass with the red! I’m trying to convince myself to get good enough to just free hand everything and wondering if it’s realistic?
I prefer to thin my paints even if it says ready to use 👍🏻Getting your paint mixture right is not as easy as you may think 🤔 that said, this video should help, as it explains paint mixing ratios as well as psi settings to make your paint flow better, so you can create your art with ease . th-cam.com/video/nzcJqJRaFbY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YE18j7JrPfEPL78p
@AirbrushAsylum Thank you for your response. Should I also purchase an air valve Control for the air brush I'm starting off with an inexpensive airbrush.
Hello.I like it very much.I have a question:the colours that you are using are opac?I tryed after you tutorial with some Createx Wiched, but i think these are transparent, becouse after black base, the orange brushed on,doesn'.t appear😁
May I ask if you have a digital download version of your stencils, please, the postage is rather extreme at $90 (£76) to the UK and that's just for the half scale version...
Hi there sorry to hear postage is SO much 🤦 give SprayGunner a try they also stock them (affiliate link , meaning we receive a small commission for any qualifying sales) - spraygunner.com/air-shot-stencil-fire-tool-template-set/?aff=9 Hope that helps 👍🏻

Hey look up the channel NeoNotCFX … title How to paint true fire RC body…. He does a good 3 vid series and it worked out well. Also look up SkinJobsRC. He does a lot of tutorials using simple stencils (made my own) and flame licks and it is very simple and easy to do. Hope that helps. Here is a really great way to do normal painting but on RC bodies in reverse… yeah that’s different for sure.
I unfortunately don’t have any tutorials on airbrushing RC bodies as painting in reverse sux lol 😂 no I’m sure it’s not too bad , it’s just that I have only painted a few in my time and think you need to be doing it regularly to get your brain dialed in …that said use the steps shown here but in reverse and you should be fine 😉🔥
Wow is that awesome, I’m building a 1/10 scale remote control rat rod it needs true fire I will be following for more. I did just subscribe sure appreciate you sharing until next time
Have you ever tried using food color on baked goods (cookies, cakes, etc.) I think a batch of flaming chocolate chip cookies would be a hit at children’s parties and even adult soirées.
I don't know how true it is, but one of the helicopters the creator of true fire painted was flying and someone called the police saying it was on fire.
lol …yep so did mine the first time I attempted fire , just keep going and try not to rely on the stencils too much this can cause the ‘seaweed’ look…keep practicing and I’m sure you will nail it soon 👍🏻
Not bad but it is the same old pattern as most people paint for flames. If you ever sit around a camp fire and really look at the flame, it starts out blue. It never has this pitch fork shapes but more wide flame of yellow. Very little white or red in a camp fire.
I think you're doing this way too fast for a beginner's-type video. Some important steps that you're doing, that you've skipped over and come naturally to you because you're experienced...are gloaaes over, and not explained to beginners who are watching your video.

that was nize , bring some flying sparks in , kind of little sparks infront and the back ... some smoke ... - but itz ok for a new firestarter
