Just heard John Sessions has sadly died of a heart attack. Huge Stella Street fan, so this of course is devastating to hear. Was just thinking about the show a few minutes ago too. Rest in Peace, John. Thanks for the late night laughs
Massively underrated comedy this was, Phil cornwell and John sessions were so good in this. So many classic lines that to this day I still try to mimic (badly)!!
It's brilliant. Phil Cornwell's been doing Mick for years - used to do it on Steve Wright's show in the eighties. A pair of extremely talented men. Why don't we see more of them and less of Michael bloody Macyntre.
I vaguely recollect one occasion when Phil Cornwell was being interviewed - as himself, on Steve Wright's radio show back in the day. Phil said that he was told that Mick Jagger had heard his (Phil's) impression on Steve's show and said "When was I on that show? I don't remember doing that!" Hats off to Phil for getting Mick's voice bang on! Phil did explain that when he impersonates Mick, he speaks as if he is trying to "stifle a burp at the end of each sentence". And Mr. Jagger is just one of Phil"s many "voices". Dare I say, a stellar talent!
This is a fabulous gem of a comedy When it was first shown I so wanted it to be more than just the 15 mins per episode John Sessions as Mrs Huggett is hilarious But easily my favourite duo were Keith Richards and Mick Jagger Both brilliantly played and hilarious We all lost such a fabulous talent when John Sessions passed away RIP
"A guy get out of bed in the morning, He's got gear to score, he's got chicks to screw, and he says before I do anything I must go down to a shop, ANY fucking shop! And buy something I don't fucking need, is that what you're saying?" Best line ever!
Very unique and brilliant work, this didn't get enough play in the U.S. Always loved John Sessions' lightning brilliant mimicry, he could go highbrow lowbrow in a flash. So sad he passed away.
@@Nomeandude I never really like alot of comedy movies from USA. There are stand up comedians I like but when they do movies I will maybe laugh once if I'm lucky. Amy Schumer is a good example. She's awful. (Actually I can't tolerate her stand up either) It's like too much in your face. Love Sacha Baron. Never laughed so hard in a theatre or heard others laugh so hard. So there are alot of Americans that appreciate British humour. I rewatch this all the time and it never gets old. I live to hear Mick say marshmallows
+Jason Burns Yes - even the way it goes up when he gets carried away and starts babbling, then he reins it in and goes deeper - then he gets excited and it goes up again just like the real Mick. His David Bowie is spot-on too, though I remember thinking at the time that not a lot of people know how they talk in real life so the joke would be lost on many. Also remember seeing the trailers on BBC2 and dying for it to start. I wasn't disappointed. 'Where's the fuckin' Shreddies, man?' Seminal (can I say that on TH-cam)?
Mark supeotmail.co.ukrbrain Hi.Of course you can say 'seminal' on Y.T. If you want to listen to the very best Al Pacino Impression on Y.T. then search 'Kevin Spacey does Al Pacino on the Letterman show.' Pacino is being interviewed by letterman and is talking about how people love impressions of him (Pacino) when on rolls Spacey with just the funniest and best I've seen. Pacino enters into it with great charm as well. Unmissable!
Just seen it - oh boy! Seen other examples of this and always thought that must be creepy being confronted by an impersonation of yourself but he's GOT IT and Al looks freaked out but in a good way. Priceless TV.
Phil & John are simply phenomenal! I love Stella Street! Got them all on DVD. I so wish they would make some more! This show is simply genius... \m/ (:o)
"a guy comes in to the shop, he gives us some bread, we give him something, the gets out of our lives" "You don't understand the grocery trade at all, do you Keef" Absolute gold.
I used to cry with laughter watching this, I love the stones so I couldn't get enough of this, when they're singing that song on a tricycle, cash and carry, where's Barry,🤣
ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS. Why were’nt these two give some sort of accolade, MBE, OBE. So many peop[e get them, for what, and real talent so often gets overlooked.
This is absolutely beyond...the writing...the impressions....man i miss sketch comedy that's funny and incredibly well done..
One of the finest underated comedy of all time, RIP John 🙂

YES!! This ^^^
Couldn't agree more, proper real comedy.
Michael Mcintyre is about as funny as a dose of Clap.

Why is comedy and 'comedians' today such utter wank!? These Stella St guys are never mentioned anywhere, it pisses me off
The Mick vocal inflections are hilarious. The impersonation of Keef is great too.

That Richards impression is the most perfect take off I've ever heard
More Keith Richards than Keith Richards.
Two geniuses at work , proper comedy
Can’t believe it was 20 years ago
24 years
"Where's our lemsip?
Where's our lemsip?...I want it nowww!!" Lol!!
I come back to this every few years, never disappoints, absolute gold🔥
RIP John Sessions. Tremendously talented man. 2020 has not been a good year.
Phil's impression of Mick Jagger is brilliant
You can't top British humour, it's impossible.
Everything about Stella Street was genius and the film was excellent. So original and funny. xx
Film???
-Well I never.
"You can't be the the fucking pope! You're from DARTFORD!"
This gets even funnier when you watch the real Mick & Keith being interviewed.
Keith Richards has just died. RIP John and Thank You.
"A guy get out of bed in the morning, He's got gear to score, he's got chicks to screw, and he says before I do anything I must go down to a shop, ANY fucking shop! And buy something I don't fucking need, is that what you're saying?" Best line ever!
Had to cheer myself up after hearing the sad news!
that Keith Richards impression is so good. It’s exactly like him
Very unique and brilliant work, this didn't get enough play in the U.S. Always loved John Sessions' lightning brilliant mimicry, he could go highbrow lowbrow in a flash. So sad he passed away.
whenever i need a good laugh i watch this, best bit is the marsh-mellows bit!!! and it was filmed in the corner shop by where i grew up.

Funny af. I'm from states and never heard of this show before. Hilarious
Hi Lori , I never imagined you would get this humour being from across the pond ! .

Fan...bloody...tastic!!! I love the Jack Nicholson! I love the way he catches Mick's 'lower' register voice wise.

EEERREE KEEF have you seen the date on these marshmallows?
Not much can rival Mick and Keith, but Michael Caine raising his voice is pretty close.

I totally missed this. I think i need to watch them. Bloody brilliant
Still watching after all these years and still laughing, total class.
The older Mick and Keith get the more accurate these absurd caricatures look.
Fuck me this is funny how am I only seeing this for the first time,The way Mick says ''Marshmellow'' kills me.
ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS. Why were’nt these two give some sort of accolade, MBE, OBE. So many peop[e get them, for what, and real talent so often gets overlooked.
