Thanks so much, I’ve been drilling with my friend for the past few weeks only footwork and it has helped so much. In our club we only play matches and don’t do drills and we don’t have a coach so these videos are the only thing helping me get better.
I’m hoping to try start competing in some small competitions to challenge myself. Keep up the good work

Your videos continue to impress me! I just competed in a local tournament and won the B Division singles. I was able to utilize a lot of techniques I've learned from your videos as well as 25 years worth of experience behind me. I'm almost 40 and my body typically doesn't let me play much singles anymore. I entered this event to just play patiently and see how I would match up to the younger generation. Once I hit the B finals and took the first set, I realized just how important this win would be for an older gunslinger like me and I desperately didn't want to go to a 3rd set lol. I broke my only rule I said I wouldn't break this weekend and I went full tilt to get the win and it's going to be one I remember for a long time. My body HATES me right now but now but I've got you both to thank for it. So worth it!

Hello Badminton Insight, 2 yrs before I started watching your videos at that time I didn't play that well and was pretty upset about my game, my footwork was my biggest concern and I watched all of your footwork and how to play better related videos and as soon as I started following you guys it started to improve I was at the happiest that time.
Thank you guys for all the tutorials.
    MAY GOD BLESS YOU GUYS🎉

The fluidity in your movements always makes me smile as I know how much practice it takes. This footwork is my weakness for sure, great explanation and analysis. I really like that you all show different angles for the footwork, makes it easier to rewind and learn

the lee chongwei theorem comes from his discovery that the hypotenuse of a triangle is always shorter then the sum of the legs. everyone knew you can go back along the floor and then jump straight up for the shuttle, but lcw's theorem proved that you can also spring backwards and jump at the same time because that makes a shorter distance to the shuttle. a little later someone named pythagorus came up with a similar idea published in some kinda peer-reviewed paper, but the original idea is definitely lcw's. typically lcw would do this on his first touchdown after turning his body. he would get a lot of height while continuing his backwards movement and smash airborne while moving backwards, and this allowed optimal interceptions of attacking clears and lifts and the like
now if you're anything like me and you ever watched lcw, it means every time you watched him, something he was doing would get into your bones and you couldnt freaking wait to get out on the court the next day and try it. you probably wore your badminton shoes to bed just to have one less thing to do the next morning and your girlfriend complained to you about how you dont really care about her. one thing i tried was going airborne on the first push backwards when you are turning your body and meeting the shuttle at the height of my jump. to do this you have to adjust your initial movements slightly from what greg is demonstrating by deeply preloading your dominant quads and using them as the engine of propulsion up and back. the way greg is doing it emphasizes non-dominant quads more than dominant quads, and is perfect if you are going to jump on the second part of your movement
the thing i experimented with, which was inspired by lcw but may or may not have been done by him that way, turns out to be very effective in replying to flick serves in doubles, and to replying to certain 'defensive attacks' in doubles. i do not think it would apply much in singles, but i guess it occasionally could cuz at some point in any badminton discipline there isnt anything you dont do
a separate point about the scissors kick: you cant actually 'kick' your feet like that. the way the scissors movement happens is generated way earlier as you translate energy upwards from the floor. when the flow of energy rises to your hips, if you allow that energy to rotate your hips you will find your dominant leg naturally moves forward and your non-dominant leg naturally moves back. if you dont rotate your hips, as in china jump, this will not happen and you wont be able to make it happen no matter what you do. so, do not kick your feet. instead if you rotate your hips at the right moment and your feet will take care of themselves. in china they have a much better name for it than scissors kick, because there is no kick. they just say 'change your feet,' as opposed to the china jump, where they say, you do not 'change your feet'

I commented & mentioned Scissors kick ( round the Head) some months ago as A Better n Faster way .
    * I learnt with the old tradition way ..... ie,
    - Being served continuously long by ur partner as if you were Recieving A Doubles serve [ shallow, mid & long length] as you master different pace & levels.
    * Good luck n Do the excercises as Greg & Jenny have Shown.

Video request, not sure if this brand is very common but can u guys do a review about a company called venson, i use their rackets all the time and really would love you guys to review their racket and strings and shuttles
for me personally i use the following:
    racket
    - venson Start wish x59 racket (tournaments) (29 main, 27 cross)
    - venson kirin-80 racket (4U) (usually training or playing with friends) (27 main, 26 cross)
    - venson you long racket (3u & 4u) (training) (28main, 27 cross)
strings i use: (10% prestrech for each)
    - Vs 65 ( training with youlong racket & kirin 80 racket)
    - Vs Kirin string ( Tournaments with star wish)
    shuttle
    - VS A5 Shuttles
    shoes
    - Kirin Power cushion Shoes
    socks
    - VS kirin -90 cushion socks
Im not like begging but it would be a wonder if u guys do a review about this,. personally my coach is sponsered by Li-Ning but i feel like Venson is better at price and their quality

    I need more footwork opportunities.
I have two modes of movement, they are both based of basics like this, where I’ll seemingly dance around the court with my pretty fast footwork. Only struggling with jumping.
Or I use the full extent of my body and really stretch my limbs giving me great reach but the in human part is the ability I have in my wrist and fingers. Combining the two is hard, I have to go into the point with one of these play styles in mind and I normally use them depending on what my opponent is trying to make me do.
I was going to ask, if you get caught in the jump, maybe it’s a bit too low and now getting lower than your head, can you do a backhand across body downwards, or attempt a type of backhanded smash of some kind by rotating my body?

Thank you for the video, my recovery is so bad but sometimes it's just my reaction time. I remember you made a video about these light thingies for reaction times on court but what do you generally recommend for practicing that? For example, I will see the shuttle fly at the opponent, do my quick step when they strike it and then there is this ???-moment in my head of what will come and only when it's coming at me with speeed I will see: nah, I won't make it. It's ok with high clears and drives but attacking clears are my cryptonite. I'm SO incredibly easy to bamboozle with just little holds and it's frustrating because I have the movement, my brain and body are just not one unit, if that makes sense. Sometimes it feels like I'm more impressed by the fast attacking clear that's coming at me than putting that fascination into movement lol. I sometimes feel so silly doing my little quick step and then going nowhere 😅😂 At today's training session I was just watching the flat clears go right behind me hrmpf

I almost never use this move simply because the lifts of my opponents are never high enough if they reach the backline plus my footwork speed is no longer what is used to be.
