Even without skills like Holy Burst being a factor, the main reason I don't like this thing, despite its combat prowess, is its massive size. I want a "Pal", not "Ender of Worlds Serpent Kaiju", if that makes sense. Maybe smaller pure Fire-elemental pals could also work out. No resisting Dragon and Dark, but at least they'd resist three elements (Ice, Fire, Leaf). Options I'm considering: Bushi (no riding, 125 shot attack), Kitsun (riding, 115 shot attack), Blazamut (riding, 125 shot attack, just a little big). Compared to Jignis with its 130 shot attack, those might work out.
In some cases, larger sizes help with the pal dodging attack from hitboxes. Should see non-mounted Alpha Vanwyrm literally being immune to a good chunk of the game's moveset just because of its insane walk/run speeds and elevated hitbox. Unfortunately, for Jormuntide, it makes it one of the most vulnerable pals. It is strong, and it has an amazing passive skill, but due to the size I'm more inclined to take Suzaku for the same use-case (who, due to its stamina and flight, is quite good defensively).
This is what I needed to see, and especially new players and players just about getting to game. A single team and not chase after 5-10 different pal teams to do everything JI could do. Then focus on other’s objectives after, I feel like if you don’t have an objective or strategy you Jen you just go running around trying to to many things at once.
That fire and dragon typing does wonders for it. Having the best type in the game (fire, because it's strong against and resists two types) mixed with a type that doesn't technically add any weakness (could be dragon or ground) results in a very powerful offensive and defensive pairing.
Only Fire and Ground type is Reptyro, though I hope we get a Ground Raid boss in the future so I can get a 30% Ground boost passive to Digtoise and Knocklem.
I was 90% sure we would see a water/electric type boss in FB. the whole game is real short on both so it could use an entire "Coral Reef" area to build out the roster. there currently are no Water/Dark pals either so we are stuck with Nocturnal/Vamp for our Waterers.
0:40 is the blue line where JorIg eggs spawn? I used to collect so much wild eggs and huge dragon egg which hatch into Jormuntide Ignite is spawn all around the Volcano island even the spot in the fisherman villages. Not only in the center area of the island.
@@Nimble96 What I did was get 2 Ignis with 2 different passives I wanted with higher end IVs, then I would use skill fruit to get both the breeding parents with 100/100/100 IV to then breed them down. Absolute frost i think is the only one you care about right now. Double blizzard spike is also breed only but absolute frost seems to be outperforming it. Double blizzard spike will probably do better against things that are smaller than raid bosses though like tower bosses, but only marginally better.
I can remember from back before SJ that breeding Bella Libs was also a real big pain; 90% of them roll female so it takes 5 times as long to build up decent males for breeding. unless you were using the campfire trick IV fruits were really uncommon as we didn't have any underleveled raids to farm them on. I still have my old army, but it was a nightmare to do. One of my favorite combat pals is Anubis. You can breed it really early on and it has the same attack stats as Jignis but gives the player a damage mod while fighting; meaning you don't lose mobility or glider access. First couple patches i would breed up Shadowbeak to fight with, but the more i play through the midgame the more I have an Anubis with me till i can start the Pyrin->Ragnahawk->Frosty->Jet progression. Honorable mention to Frosty Noct. its super easy to breed passives into, once you have frosty, and has crazy high base stats as well as the highest weapon damage mod. Its still the only Gathering 4 pal in the game so having spare breeders around to build up egg production will just part of progression, and with the new Expedition system ranking them so highly it is probably worth breeding a bunch of them for Expedition fodder.
How much of a difference is alpha pals version of these. Any fighting pals i use i wanna make them alpha. Also does work speed work in the ranch and does it work for transport pals?
I don't think I will ever take off the triple jump boots, the dodge does more than a defense pendant. I am probably going to swap the dash boots for Atk pendants. It is still worth to use the +2 dragon resist ring vs Xenolord as well.
They are very similar, Ryu suffers a bit from no Legend or Absolute Frost breeding. It is also a much more difficult pal to breed for in general, this Jignis army can be created much earlier than you will be fighting Ryu.
The condensing is not a huge deal, it is only 5% per star so going for 2-3 stars is a lot less breeding/catching than 4-stars. 2 star is 315 total pals, 3 star is 795 pals and 4 stars is 1755 pals for a 15 pal army.
Hey pal professor I was wondering if you or anyone else has ever tried building a giant tower for raid bosses and letting the raid boss destroyed the floor to see if They can suffer full damage it's something I'm thinking about trying it hadn't yet also It takes so much time to breed the ideal army to fight said raid boss so I just haven't done it yet and I'm glad I waited now that we have daemon god as a skill To breed into our armies also I'm glad to see my favorite Pal completely trivializing the raid bosses So thanks for your demonstration it was awesome
They have long since patched out fall damage as a means to defeat bosses. You used to defeat Jetragon on accident because he'd get frozen and knocked into the air and insta-die from the fall damage. They patched that out before they patched out campfires. Which is one of the reasons I didn't initially go for Ignis because you can't set fire to raid bosses anymore.
@ProfessorPenking can u suggest what pals should i use to breed it so that i some necessary skills could be added to its moveset(skills which ignis normally doesn't learn + skills that are not available via skill fruit tree)
Why does 15 seem to be the magic number everyone uses for raid fights? Are you just showing off how few you can do it with, or is there some kind of damage scaling if you use more pals?
15 is the default setting for base pals, so it's just what I use in videos since I assume people on servers also raid with 15. Going for 16-50 base pals makes it a bit easier. There is no damage scaling for having more base pals in the settings.
Is Absolute Frost necessary to beat Xenolord? bc i'm really getting frustration with not implementing a different way to get new active skills like what they did with holy burst before they added the fruit tree to get it.
Kinda. But outside transferables you're better off not targeting weakness and abusing the fact that holy burst, air blade, and lighting streak hit large target multiple times.
How do you go about condensing these? I'm struggling to find a fast way to get a lot of them. Seems like it will take a full year to get the 1,740 I'd need to get 15 four stars.

Nope, Only Paladius learns it, you can breed it down to Jignis
