So I am correct. 4 heavyweights have won immediate rematches (including AJ's win). 2 of those four were flash KOs/lucky punches. 2 of them (Paterson and AJ) were thumped soundly and badly. Until AJ's comeback against Ruiz boxing has held that Paterson was the only heavyweight in the modern era who won an immediate rematch after being soundly beaten.

I've always loved Fury, even when everyone seemed to put him down when he went through bad times. I never once doubted his comeback and I'm so happy to see him prove so many wrong.

@TJ McGregor Ruiz is a style nightmare for Joshua. Don't make out fury wouldn't fight from the outside against Ruiz. He changed his style in months, give him credit.
@TJ McGregor If AJ isn't elite or a top fighter then how come he is OBE, Olympic Gold, Former British, Commonwealth and WBC International Champion, Current and 2 time Unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO World Champion, defeated 4 world champions, Unified twice, only 4th heavyweight to win immediate rematch, ranked top 3 by Ring Magazine, Transnational Boxing board and number 1 by Boxrec??? And all this in half the fights Wilder has had and having fought more of the Ring top 10 than Fury and Wilder and more Boxrec top 20 than Wilder or Fury. This whole line from Arum, Fury and Wilder about being undefeated is all good but it doesn't paint the whole picture. To give AJ no credit is completely disingenuous

In my opinion he actually outboxed Ruiz, after all the Sweet Science is hit and don't get hit. I couldn't say he is the number 1 but I couldn't say the other 2 are either. My point is you have to look at the bigger picture, not just 1 fight. Bear in mind that if Fury loses I don't think you can honestly say his record is better than many other top 10 especially given his resumé (Fury would be 29 wins 20 KOs 1 loss, 1 draw, Ruiz 33 wins, 22 KOs, 2 losses, Whyte 27 wins 18 KOs 1 loss, AJ 23 wins 21 KOs 1 loss, Pulev 28 wins, 14 KOs, 1 loss, Kownacki 20 wins 15 KOs, no losses). So would it be fair to say that if Fury loses he should drop in the rankings more than just below Wilder and AJ especially with the calibre of most of his opponents?
The reason stuff like rankings in the Ring and Boxrec matter is because someone looking at all the facts ranks the fighters in a more objective way than the sanctioning bodies. Hence why AJ is number 1 on Boxrec because his opponents are significantly better than Wilder and Fury. I would also say that Fury took an absolute spanking from Wallin and that fight could well have been stopped. But styles make fights, that's why Ruiz got the better of AJ. If a fighter has the boxing intelligence to overcome a style that is bad for them I think you have to credit them for that.
I absolutely love Tyson Fury, I could listen to him all day lol, so grounded and down to earth regardless of being a super rich mega star, unbelievable, he really does need a TV show

@@cameronpitcher4024 Well, it wasn't due to the loss alone, but the comeback was not much to brag about either like Ali's was, I am afraid to say, as a huge AJ-fan. Sure as heck looks like something has happened with AJ....it's like watching Fernando Torres (soccer) all over again. He has some work to do in his next fight, can't blame it "on the business" any longer.
