When in other armies, only monarchs and aristocrats are commanders, not always selected on merit.

Napoleon was better than Caesar he created turmoil and defeated six coalitions even Caesar was a great commander but his enemies were foolish and undisciplined but Napoleon had stronger enemies compared to Caesar.

Damn, Napoleon had a plethora of MVP generals fighting for him. I mean facing 60k with 15 thousand like it's nothing. Shout out to my man Bagration as well.
Bagration was a "student" of Alexander Suvorov. Try to research that guy. He was a magician on the battlefield. One example: taking Izmail, a state of the art fortress with 35 thousand turks, using 31 thousand of his own troops in 2 and half hours, killing 26 thousand and losing 4 thousand.
Not related to Napoleon, but Genghis Khan also has a plethora of brilliant generals and military commanders at his disposal. Well, Britain gave money to all the enemy of Napoleon and France. Most of the coalitions wars were started by Britain. Britain always worked for the balance of power in europe (thats why they fought napoelon alongside prussia, then fought germany alongside France and finally chose the capitalist side in the cold war against USSR.) If Napoleon succesfuly invaded and beat britain, Europe would probably have been under French domination. France have also probably reclaimed all its former colonies taken by britain (canada, india, parts of the usa...). France would have been the first true superpower, all europe under french rules with napoleon as his master, and french influence everywhere. One of most horrible nightmare for every english, thats probably why they kept fighting ^^...

impressive how France could after cruel time of french revolution still drive such warfare. What remaind from that time was the metric system on continental Europe and increasing nationalism. The source for more wars to come.

Napoleon had some amazing commanders leading his troops

Exactly, they were promoting the very best. There are multiple accounts claiming that Napoleon even knew mere sergeants in some of his units.
Ward Huyskes caesar didnt conquer gaules with soldiers. in his book, gauls conquests, he said that he use young gaulics nobles to divide his ennemy.
Hannibal managed to beundefeated for at least 17 years
thats why the soldiers and officers were better because they made that happen
Napoleon was better than Caesar he created turmoil and defeated six coalitions even Caesar was a great commander but his enemies were foolish and undisciplined but Napoleon had stronger enemies compared to Caesar.

Thank you very much! Have a great 2018! :-)
Napoleon was a strategic and tactical genius! I always wonder, if instead of invading Russia, what would have happened if he had invaded Great Britain? Just a thought.
Anyway great video and look forward to more. Awesome work as always and wish you the very best for 2018 :)
Thank you very much! Happy 2018! :-)
With the defeat of the french/spanich fleet in Trafalgar he could not invade britain.
That's true. The defeat at the hand Nelson was a big blow to Napoleon. But it's one of those big 'what ifs'.
Vinod Varghese Napoleon was a 19th century Hitler.

Thank you for this very nice new-year gift. Friedland is my favorite napoleonic battle. You covered it very well. Lannes proved once again that he was very capable. Ney did well also, for once.
Anyway, I love this channel, I'll keep patroning it. You made my day and I wish you a happy new year! «
Idea for a battle : Plaines d'Abraham.

Good video guys but may I ask How you put 40 hours into researching in just a coupple of days?
The beauty of the serialized production is that it somewhat shortened the research period. But, many sleepless nights and days of reading.
Thanks for the video!

Dark times. :p Thank you!
All of Europe. Greatest general of all time.
Great Video! Can’t wait for season 2 of Napoleon!
impressive how France could after cruel time of french revolution still drive such warfare. What remaind from that time was the metric system on continental Europe and increasing nationalism. The source for more wars to come.
Nationalism is also the reason of why Germany and Italy are rich today...
Because they unified them.
I love your videos! This one was one of my favorites!
Thank you very much! :-)
Must say that the Marshals of napoleon's army deserve due credit.
True, meritocracy of that kind works.
