So busy chatting about the flat field and build quality, forgot the mention the excellent colours and contrast in bright sunshine and picking out details in the shadows.
If the slightly heavier (well built) than average weight is not an issue, these represent great value for money considering the specs, with in build field flattener optics.
Unlike some binoculars that sacrifice FOV for edge of field sharpness, the Regal ED FF offer this, plus a picture window 140m @ 1000m view. What`s not to like.
Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) objective lenses provide high resolution, high contrast images that are virtually free of optical defects such as chromatic aberration (colour fringing)
Flat field technology ensures level, edge-to-edge image clarity
Fully multi-coated optics deliver maximum light transmission throughout the optical path.
Phase and dielectric coated BaK-4 prisms produce vivid, true-to-life colours.
Eyeglass friendly - generous eye relief and sturdy, twist-up eyecups with multiple stops
    Well-balanced, ergonomic industrial design
    4.9’ close focus
    Tripod adaptable

    Solar Warning
Never look directly at the Sun with the naked eye or with this optic. Permanent and irreversible eye damage may result.
Never use your optic to project an image of the Sun onto any surface. Internal heat build-up can damage the optic and any accessories attached to it.
Never leave your optic unsupervised. Make sure an adult who is familiar with the correct operating procedures is with your optic at all times, especially when children are present.

Excellent review with a lot of good info and detail. I was looking very hard at the Celestron Nature and Trailseeker ED 8x42 and other similar binos, but I decided to go with the Regal FF ED based on this and other reviews.

    These or Viking Peregrine?

Quite different optics. The Regal give a wider view. Vikings are much lighter with better handling

Are there the same as the (discontinued?) Wingspan Optics Thunderbird Ultra HD binoculars?
Celestron seems to have started selling these right as the Thunderbirds stopped being sold.
They seem to both have the exact same eye relief, close focus distance, FoV, weight, etc. Both are ED glass and flat field. This can't be a coincidence.
The only big differences seem to be the diopter adjustment location, outer case/badging, and these are about 25% more expensive because...reasons.
Maybe whatever Chinese factory that made the Thunderbirds is now making binoculars for Celestron?

Never dealt with the other brand so can not comment. Unless I looked at a different page, the Wingspan was around 720g with the Celestron around 790g
