Residents in the seaside town of Salisbury are bracing for another potentially powerful storm that could hit early next week. WBZ-TV's Beth Germano reports.
The people who live there all knowingly took the risk of buying a house built on a sand bar out of vanity...and not a dime of tax payer money should be used to bail them out from taking that risk... 💥
Guess they made a sand dune when they should have made a sea wall .. or a jetty .. Which they'll have to do now anyway.. or just move ... Why someone would build right on beach on the Atlantic side is beyond me.... West coast . No problem.. no hurricanes hardly ever.. Folks if you want to build next to the ocean, make sure you're on a bluff first .
The homeowners pay for the sand and have to go through a lot of approvals via permits and conservation association to protect their property that they pay a lot of taxes on. How would you feel if you were not allowed to protect your property? There is no charity going on here.
They all knowingly took the risk of buying a house built on a sand bar... It doesn't matter what they do or how much money they throw at it, mother nature is taking all those houses... 💥
Why are they just allowed to dig and move sand all over the place? Why aren't they subject to wetlands protection laws? I toss a shovel full of leaves into the swamp next to my house and the town conservation commission is right up my ass.
Plenty of hoops to jump through here. Homeowners on the beach and across the beach on the marsh side are not allowed to do anything without permits. The sand is paid by homeowners and have to use contractors provided by the state.
Where do they get the sand and how is more sand made?

Wich hand their using to try and beat with cuz I always use my right hand never failed me gets me thru about 4x a days
The permanent solution is to let nature do its thing and not waste money fighting the ocean.
Didn't have to wait long...
$600k, and its gone!

And yet, they are now looking for a hand out from the State.
So it would seem they are looking for charity
@@dougg4633 … it’s a trust fund specific to the beach that was set up years ago. Salisbury Beach Preservation Trust Fund.
