Really nice review dude! I watched even your comparison between the Mv7x and the Elgato Wave 3, just from a sound prospective, which one would be your pick, Podmic USB or Mv7x? I don’t know why I’m a bit inclined to pick the Mv7x but maybe it’s a bias, so I would like to know which one do you prefer if it’s possible! Thanks (obviously with the Elgato wave XLR, I was going to buy an Audient but I changed my mind watching your videos, Wave Link it’s just too good, I hope Elgato sponsored you because among the various reviews about Elgato products your videos are the most helpful to understand their potential)
Thanks for your videos, but don't forget to do the keyboard test! A lot of keyboard/mouse players are looking for a mic that rejects keyboard noise well, having a test would have been nice!
Hey GNR, great video! And I was curious, do you no longer use the beacn mix create? Correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve only seen wave link in your recent videos and was deciding which I should get?
Correct. I no longer use the beacn mix create. I got an elgato stream deck plus just because I'm already neck deep in the EG ecosystem. If you're not committed to either ecosystem then either one is a good fit.
@@StreamGearTalk Thanks for the info! I was just worried that maybe one platform was more stable than the other or if there was any real advantage over the other, besides VST support
Last year I would've said the beacn app was having some concerning issues but those have since been resolved. I used it for many many months and was happy with its performance (mix create)
@@StreamGearTalk gotcha yeah. I believe the low impedance mode is mainly used for like the overly sensitive headphones like the iems, as it is common for those headphones to produce hiss. But any standard over the ear headphones should be fine where you don’t need to enable it. Btw I watched your wave xlr vst settings, and helped me a lot. Thanks.
Nic Vid.. Rode or Shure MV7? Mainly for online course creation and I need to travel with it (USB). Thoughts? Also, does Rode have the same near/far settings?
Rode does not have the same near/far setting. I'd got with rode, mv7 Is great but if you find yourself in a situation where you need to record on your phone, the podmic usb works in that scenario.
Hey GNRFrank you should do a pc X ps5 stream recording setup with like daul audio and stuff because i would love to see your setup and how you get it to use with the becan and XLR and all your tech
I have a question why it is not better to take rode pod microfone with XLR jack audio interface for example Rode Al-1? It will come out about 180-190$ and add a normal XLR cable up to 10 bucks. Isn't that a better buy than spending 200$ on one microphone, you will have a good audio card in addition to the microphone.
@@Tmaxar The weight of this microphone is not for road recordings not every pantograph can withstand it, there are better alternatives if there is a need for road recordings

I'm wishi washi about this model, i have the maono pd400, the shure mv7, the yeti, so i wonder if i should get this...😅 Btw awesome review 👍
Thank you! I used to have the mv7 and i have a maono pd100u and honestly id pick the podmic usb over the two any day
hey my podmic usb just sounds like static and I don't know how to fix it. can you help me?
Straight to the point, Elgato Wave 3 or Podmic USB? which one sounds better in your opinion?
Two different mic types (condenser vs dynamic) both deliver different types of sound. If I had to pick one, based purely on sound, pod mic usb
@@StreamGearTalk thanks, I came with the same conclusion but watching your videos about the Wave 3 made me question it, really nice reviews!
Hello! Does it work with PS5 via USB directly?

There’s a toggle for high impedance mode for wave xlr?
Yes there is
@@StreamGearTalk hm I thought I’ve only seen the low impedance mode option.
Apologies you are correct. It's low impedance mode not high

What that echo in your audio ?

@@StreamGearTalk I don't think i would record on my phone or iPad... i have a wireless setup for that....
Do you like the sound of the MV7 better?
Honestly I recall being underwhelmed with it after a while. Between the two I'd say podmic usb is better because it's a mic meant to be eq'd
@@StreamGearTalk better than the MV7? Any other USB mics you like?

These effects are turned on inside the MIC software?
Yes. And saved to the mic as well
Can you get a table stand for this instead of an arm? Thanks
Yes! Rode just released the DS2 stand and any other table stand should work
This and the XLR only podmic are also excellent for ham radio use.
You talk so fast

Agreed but not really. With that setup, you are stuck to your desk. With Rode Podmic USB, you can record things while traveling in a train, or a bus.
@@Tmaxar The weight of this microphone is not for road recordings not every pantograph can withstand it, there are better alternatives if there is a need for road recordings
@@MangaAreaUA That, I have to agree with. The weight is an issue for everyday carrying and recording on the go.
@@Tmaxar That's why I think it's worth considering it for a home with a sound card
If I use Podmic usb to record the music sound from the speaker, do you think it is suitable, or do you have other recommendations
So I understand you want to use this mic, aim it at a speaker and use it to record music from the speaker?
@@StreamGearTalk yes
This is not my area of expertise but I don't see why it couldn't work. I'd just be curious to see if a condenser mic would be better for situation
