I think the figure inside Caesar is the part of Shinjiro that is inside Akihiko. The figure is black and Caesar is dressed in white, showing how shinji is the black to Akihikos white
I’m honestly heartbroken that Akihiko never got a Theurgy with Shinji, like how Junpei and Chidori have. In my perfect world, Shinji’s death awakens Akihiko’s wild-cardish abilities, similar to Akechi, and lets him use Castor as well. It could have been a pretty cool way of giving Castor an ultimate evolution as well!
That would've been way too sick if they got a theurgy together. I could imagine something where Shinji gives him a push or a slap to push past his limits and do crazy damage.
I think the beautiful thing of the Persona 3 Social Links is that each one reflects a different part of Makoto's development as a character. For Akihiko, it's his desire to protect others while at the same time distancing himself from them, whether or not it was intentional. Both he and Makoto start was people who have developed toxic coping mechanisms for past trauma, and together, they learn to overcome the past and truly protect those they care about. Other Social Links tie into other parts of Makoto's arc, as you've mentioned (especially in the Junpei) analysis. It's just genius.
You could actually fit Caesar’s death into Aki’s story. Caesar was strong enough to take on anything the world could throw at him. But the one thing that managed to kill him was betrayal from the one he trusted most. Aki’s the same. He was the strongest physical fighter in SEES, who could take on anything. But in the end, the one think that killed Polydeuces was Shinji’s death. The one person he trusted most. And I don’t even need to start on how Caesar looks like the emperor shadow, the one that helped awaken Fuuka. He’s moved on from those that are gone, and is focusing on who he has now. Et tu, Shinji?

Great character analysis as always but one little nitpick, now i don't know if this your gameplay footage but WHY DO YOU NOT PICK THE DIALOGUE OPTION "LET'S ME SEE IT" it would have show a small animation for the mc PUTTING THE MEDAL ON AKIHIKO and sure the dialogue "I did it Miki" would be the same but it hits different with him wearing the medal. So yeah that's all I had to say great video either way keep up the good work ❤

I wonder if The Answer is going to be changed, and if so, how. I feel like it could give the cast even more development. If that is the case, are you going to do an analysis on how the cast grows in Episode Aigis once it comes out?
If they make some big changes to the answer in some way I’ll definitely make an analysis for episode Aigis. If not, then I’ll probably just make a review on whether it’s worth buying or not
Actually in his first social link I thought it was a terrible idea for him to fight that guy. That guy said let's do it in the ally. What if he pulled out a knife or gun on him? I was bruh, don't follow this man into the alley.
Base Akihiko Sanada would get cooked if he had to compete in the AFC north. This bum is 5’8, around 126 pound (Since he’s around featherweight in boxing), only lifts a measly 10kg dumbbells (Shown in his room and gives to Makoto), and runs a 5.09 40 yard dash (Scaled when he ran during his linked episode). Comparing Akihiko to someone like Lamar Jackson is embarrassing. Lamar is 6’2, weighs 215, reps out 45 pound dumbbells, and runs a 4.34 40 yard dash. Completely obliterates Akihiko in all aspects.
One thing about his character that only gets mentioned on the FemC route also puts the fight him and Shinji had about the drugs into a new perspective as well. In the games Akihiko punches Shinji because Shinji is trying to push Aki away and Aki responds with his typical fight reflex. When you start Shinji's social link he mentions his mouth got messed up because Aki didn't hold back but he isn't too worried about it healing because this is the 2nd time Aki has done this. When you get to Shinji's rank 10 he finally tells you the story of the first fight where Aki punched him like that. Shinji has stolen a doll to give to Miki and Aki did not approve of Shinji breaking the law even if it were for a good reason. Even though Shinji was the one getting beat up in the fight Aki was the one who was crying. Shinji returned the doll and took full responsibility but the shop owner blamed both boys and even slapped Akihiko in the face. Shinji then vowed to never let Aki get hurt for his mistakes again and to always be there by his side, which is why he promised they would get strong together after Miki died and why Shinji forced his way into sees originally. Shinji also mentions that Aki is "stupid, proud, kind, and a crybaby" which are all things shini actually admires him for. I think seeing Akihiko from Shinji's pov shows us how Aki has always had a strong moral compass but was never sure how to channel it properly. His actions are always brash but with good intentions and he was lucky his best friend could take a punch or two. Being able to show the kindness he always had is something he could only learn from Makoto.
Also the crybaby comment also seems to give some context to why Aki says "I know Shinji. Crying won't solve anything." at the funeral. To me it suggests Shinji has probably called him a crybaby to his face a few times. Lol
The FEMC route in general adds a lot of cool ideas and details for the characters, and maybe I should have mentioned it since it is a really good aspect of his character. The only reason I didn't talk about it is because I plan on making a different video / series for FEMC herself. Thank you for reminding me about it though I really love his social link.
I absolutely fell in love with Akihiko when I played Reload. He quickly became my favorite character in all of Reload. It also helps his new VA, Alejandro Saab, is really damn good at voice acting. I loved his roles as Cyno in Genshin Impact and Jing Yuan in Honkai Star Rail. I know purists of the original hate how deep his voice is compared to the original and while I can understand where they are coming from since it is drastically different compared to the original, I love his Reload voice! Akihiko's emotional moments in scene like his Link Episode and the aftermath of October 4th were moments that actually brought me to tears. It is very damn hard for me to cry these days, so you know his scenes are super effective. He never left my team once he joined, I refused to take him out of the party. He was also the main party member I gave my Incense Cards to (at least the lower value ones since I wanted to save all the high value ones for my endgame Personas) so he could quickly surpass everybody in terms of his raw damage. Overall, one of my favorite characters from all of Persona, period. I love my precious Aki so much! Between him and Yusuke Kitagawa from P5, I think I just have a thing for the party members of the Emperor Arcana.
The Emperor Arcana overall has some of the strongest characters in the series. The P1 protagonist, Akihiko, Kanji, and Yusuke are all amazing character and I love them a lot. The hate for his new voice actor is so bizarre because he did an amazing job. I’ll admit it was really jarring at first and I didn’t know how to feel about it, but Alejandro Saab did great and really did Akihiko Justice. I think Caesar's design has 2 other meanings. 1. The little guy in the chest can represent Caesar the man, while the outer body either represents the legacy he made, or the Roman Empire itself. And the other is to show that, both literally and figuratively, Akihiko holds Shinjiro's memory in his heart.
Can’t believe his FemC social link wasn’t mentioned smh. In all seriousness this video was very well written to the point that I showed my friend who has never played a game before and he deeply enjoyed it and empathized with Akihiko’s character arc.

I’d argue that FemC’s social link didn’t do anything remarkable in expanding Aki’s character and just served to retread his character established in the main game. Reload handled it better
@@YandereGogeta I played a good amount too. She's a character with a lot of depth. She's basically like Yukari or FemC, putting on a happy face when they have emotional issues... And Maya has serious fear and trauma. If they remade 2, I believe people would connect with her a lot. Innocent Sin is probably the best one in terms of the main purpose of the Persona being understanding yourself and connections
Well they're already on that path. P5's cast is a massive step up from the Investigation Team in terms of development. Still we ain't all the way back to P2-3 level characters

They still have a ways to go (a good start would be either removing party social links or give every character an arc, one for the link and one for the story) but I am saying I think Atlus is slowly easing their way back into that method of character writing

Akihiko is my goat fr. I've always have Identified with his more stoic nature personally. Although since Akihiko is kind of central to it I do kind of want to talk about my main grievance with the answer (besides the abyss of time being genuinely awful.) that being the cutscene where they decide to have a battle royale and the whole battle royale plot point in general. Maybe the reason might be silly but I just find it complete bs on how Akihiko and Junpei are all up in Yukari's face about not going back in time but as soon as Yukari brings up taking the keys by force all of the sudden everyone is quiet. The game treats it as an unavoidable conflict (You even said so yourself.) but to me the game hasn't presented it this way because it's all decided in a 5 minute conversation. What the game could have done is give the characters the keys directly after their flashbacks so they can have more discussion on what to do with them (Y'know make the previous 20 hours worth something.). and the scene gets way worse when Metis brings up that it might kill Aigis because NO ONE tries to bring up that if Yukari gets what she wants she's trading one friend for another. It also makes Yukari look worse than she needs to be, especially when she's already about to potentially trad billions of lives to see Makoto again. The worst part is it's such an unnecessary plot point Aigis isn't gonna lose WERE PLAYING AS HER. Trying to add stakes like that is meaningless and again makes everyone present look like they're okay with killing their potentially. Sorry I posted an entire paragraph about something seemingly unrelated but I don't think I've ever seen someone say this about the answer. Every time someone brings up them disliking the answer it's usually always about Yukari (I'm not the biggest fan of her either tbh but I thought her arc was cool in the Answer.) so I kind of just wanted to ask am I wrong? Also enjoyed the video lol.
No, you aren't wrong about yukari, in fact the atlust did a good job of potraing yukari as character, it just people don't like her due pretty much antagonize the team because they refuse the choice of bring back the MC

I do understand where you're coming from the narrative of The Answer isn't perfect by any means. I do wish they tried to focus more on that idea that Aigis could die if they all won, or to be honest maybe they straight up shouldn't have added it at all because it really doesn't add anything, and like you said it makes Yukari look worse than it needed to. At least the actual conversation itself is pretty great for the most part and shows the differing psyche of everyone after the final battle.

Tough fighter of Akihiko is something else....I can see why the girls really have a curse on him. It's an all going dude. He means well to fight for what is right. For his sister's sake, Shinjiro, and his friends of SEES members. Punches and lighting powers combined!
Whether it be Liam O. Brein, Kaggy Films or even Hikaru Midorikawa, all 3 did a fantastic job portraying Akihiko's character Sucks that the dude gets reduced into a Proteinholic meathead in the spin-offs...
I remember so many people trying to act like Kaggy replacing Liam was gonna be the end of the world, but as soon as I saw his awakening in Reload I knew he cooked a five course meal. The spin off in general have some pretty weird choices for the characters, but I have to agree Akihiko’s portrayal in them is probably the worst.
In the P3R opening when he is the only one out of the 3 who gets to the dark hour on the train it’s a representation of how he’s not able to be there for either one in the moment
I will say this though I used Mitsuru more in portable than in Reload due to healing skills and being able to control her if you are doing Mitsuru Kirijo Next
I wish I could place what the last song was used for the analysis, I really wanna find it Also, I really do like Akihiko's growth, it has always felt more human-like than most, and Alejandro Saab REALLY nailed it with not only bringing him to life both breathing NEW life into him compared to his older iteration in P3 FES/P3P
The last song I used for this video was Persona 3 FES - Darkness. Alejandro Saab blew my expectations out of the water with his performance as Akihiko and I'm really appreciative of his work.

I haven't played too much of Persona 2, but from what I played that cast was really good, and I loved Maya a lot

Tough fighter of Akihiko is something else....I can see why the girls really have a curse on him. It's an all going dude. He means well to fight for what is right. For his sister's sake, Shinjiro, and his friends of SEES members. Punches and lighting powers combined!
Whether it be Liam O. Brein, Kaggy Films or even Hikaru Midorikawa, all 3 did a fantastic job portraying Akihiko's character
Sucks that the dude gets reduced into a Proteinholic meathead in the spin-offs...
I remember so many people trying to act like Kaggy replacing Liam was gonna be the end of the world, but as soon as I saw his awakening in Reload I knew he cooked a five course meal.
The spin off in general have some pretty weird choices for the characters, but I have to agree Akihiko’s portrayal in them is probably the worst.

In the P3R opening when he is the only one out of the 3 who gets to the dark hour on the train it’s a representation of how he’s not able to be there for either one in the moment

Also, I really do like Akihiko's growth, it has always felt more human-like than most, and Alejandro Saab REALLY nailed it with not only bringing him to life both breathing NEW life into him compared to his older iteration in P3 FES/P3P
The last song I used for this video was Persona 3 FES - Darkness. Alejandro Saab blew my expectations out of the water with his performance as Akihiko and I'm really appreciative of his work.

Just wanted to say that I love the appreciation you give to the movies. For me, they portray some events better than in game and despite this, they often end up being severely overlooked :)
