Dash cams. I have them in all my cars. I've been screwed over like this more than once. I got front and rear cams to catch as much as possible. I'm running Aukey cams and they seems ok.

One at fault tho the people who was illegally parked got ticketed thanks to my dashcam because they caused a blindspot and I couldn't see down the street, one not at fault by a POS who sideswiped me cause I was going so called slow. She didn't even have insurance either so they're after her for $4.7K in damages. Lied and failed miserably thanks to my dashcam. And, I got rear ended by a hit and run driver. Police are still looking for the driver. And all this occured within several months ownership of my brand new 2018 Hyundai Elantra SEL.
But if it's written off they take the car and give him money based on what the car is worth. They won't fix it if the damage is more then a certain percentage of the value of the car

I guess insurance is totally different from here in the UK, when you get car insurance here you give them the value of the car, basically what you paid for it. If it is written off due to someone else you pay your excess usually £500 and claim the full value of the car of there insurance. How does it work in BC?

One thing about audio foam is that you don’t need to cover every square inch of every wall. The first places you should treat are the corners of your walls & ceiling. Bass traps are the most effective & best looking. You can still use the flat panels to treat the corners but it just looks a bit odd. The second thing to note is that if you place panels on one wall, the exact same space on the opposite wall shouldn’t need acoustic foam. This way you can kind of create a more interesting look, as well as efficiently using the acoustic foam. You could create panels of 4x4, (or larger since you have quite a lot of wall space) and create a checkered pattern. So on one wall, have a 4x4 panel of foam, leave a 4x4 space open, and then place another panel down, and on the opposite wall place the panels in the opposite pattern that was done on the first wall.
As a former GC4 owner, only bit of advice I can give is if you're already (not) in the GC8 group on Facebook, and do decide to try and repair the GF, you could ask to see if anyone is selling doors and etc.
Don't feel too bad, my only car and my daily which was a modified Fiesta SE (yes SE, I wanted to modify something that nobody would appreciate) that I've had for 4 1/5 years got totaled on Saturday the 14th and I'm absolutely devastated and left without a vehicle so I have to hitch rides where I can until insurance pays me out. Hey Robbie, sorry about the car but I know you'll stay committed. You're on the right track with the acoustic foam. Hang them at roughly ear level and space them out RANDOMLY to increase absorption. Pretty much how you had described in the video. If the echo continues, add more foam higher on the walls.
I installed the same stereo in my truck almost a year ago. It's a decent stereo for the price. But it tends to bog down sometimes. It does have Bluetooth data tethering but it's slow. Use your phones hotspot for data. Also when updating apps it takes forever. I just let it idle in my drive way. Get a cheap $20 Bluetooth obd scanner just leave it plugged in. I would give this setup a 7/10.

A couple of tips for the atoto head unit. Make sure it is updated and if it lags out, you can tap restart in the notification bar. Otherwise, mine has been running great!
I'm stiddying at a mechanic course and the Dores are fine, just takit to a frame puller I think it costs about 100 €, but you will get it like new. We had a golf mk3 with a bent a puller and she looks as good as new, so I wish you luck 🤞
My Volvo got t-boned in a very similar way. B-pillar got pushed in and doors got mangled. Insurance gave the choice to fix or write off. Would've been 2-2,5k to fix at body shop. Plus new airbags, doors and repaint. Decided to have it totaled, in hindsight, I should have had it fixed, I loved that car more than I realised at first.
Dude I'm really sorry about what happened to the WRX.. People really need to learn how to drive. At least everyone was ok and no one was hurt. So about your sound insulation issue, it really depends where you'll be facing. The more padding there the less sound will reflect off. Another good place would be in the corners. Also, I'd consider getting drapes or something to hang on the ceiling to help too. A lot of live venues and concert halls will have either drapes or panels up there to help stop sound from reflection off the ceiling. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask! Tip is if you go though insurance and they offer you a settlement that does not seem up to par for a total loss you should be able to get an appraisal done and it will be taken into consideration, not usually worth it for regular cars but can make a difference with more unique cars. Good luck.
Surprised I haven't heard of your channel before! Just came up in my suggested on the side. Common issue I have heard of on these JDM turbo engines is the coil pack. Luckily you can use USDM coil packs. Definitely get OEM though from what I hear. I have an EJ205 from a 99-01 WRX, so slightly later than yours, and I am having a similar bogging issues. Builder of the car said coil packs very common. Plugs too of course. REALLY sorry about the car that's so gutting. So many Americans don't know how to use roundabouts, it's sad. Just giving some advice since I'm guessing you'll keep it either way. Luckily USDM doors swap on, but obviously the B pillar is pushed hard. Can def be pulled out, but hard to ever get perfect. Had similar happen to my old 96 GC. Really sorry again! Accidents definitely suck. Best of luck!

Most of the echo will be coming from the high ceilings, acoustic foam would help on some of the bigger walls but you should look for big wall hangers for sound diffusion for your walls. Some of the foam would be good in the corners and thrown here and there on the big walls till you get something more permanent. Hope the subie gets well soon

I had a similar accident happen to me. It was the last day before I was going to put away my Honda for the Winter. I was running performance tyres and the street was wet, so I had really bad grip. A woman was driving around a corner in her BMW 1 Series and the opposite lane was blocked for road work. Another person drove towards us on our lane to avoid the roadblock, the woman in front of me did an emergency brake and so did I, but I drove right into her. Her car was fine except a few scratches on her bumper. My Honda however suffered severe damage and it's going to take me a while to rebuild it :c what bugs me is that it was literally the last day I was gonna drive the honda...
Not sure if you'd want to do this but the ones at movie theaters are just giant squares of fabric. So you'd make a picture frame and just stretch fabric over them making a panel. Probably doesn't cost that much and you could use them to spell out committed crew or some kinda spray paint art. You could make like 8 foot by 4 foot panels and stagger them down the walls. I think it would look dope.

Robbie, fog lights are supposed to be yellow. Fog does reflect back white light, but lets yellow light go through it more easily. Right now those lights are useless and will hinder your vison dramatically while driving in foggy condition. Just buy yellow LED lights and you'll be golden ;) Pls upvote so he sees that

OBD Dongles dont work on a V4 Impreza. They do work on a V5/6 but you'll need a special SSM supported adapter or a wired cable.

Just had my JDM BH5 totalled in North Van about a month ago, ICBC immediately wrote it off and surprisingly gave me a lot more than what I paid.

You could put the acoustic foam panels in like groups of 4 in a square or groups of 8 in a rectangle around your shop.

Not sure if you'd want to do this but the ones at movie theaters are just giant squares of fabric. So you'd make a picture frame and just stretch fabric over them making a panel. Probably doesn't cost that much and you could use them to spell out committed crew or some kinda spray paint art. You could make like 8 foot by 4 foot panels and stagger them down the walls. I think it would look dope.

Robbie, fog lights are supposed to be yellow. Fog does reflect back white light, but lets yellow light go through it more easily. Right now those lights are useless and will hinder your vison dramatically while driving in foggy condition. Just buy yellow LED lights and you'll be golden ;) Pls upvote so he sees that

bright fog lights are detrimental to your vision when they are on. the yellow also helps with visibility
