If you use geforce now in dock mode with an external monitor, you'll no longer to be limited to the decks resolution right? If I have a 4k tv, I'd be able to play in 4k through my deck? Considering selling my ps5 if I can do that
I believe so, though you will be limited to 60fps and there is no HDR support. You'd also have to be an Ultimate subscriber to get 4k resolution support. Given GeforceNOW runs in the browser on deck, there are limitations which is why you won't get higher than 60fps or any HDR support. Hopefully they build a native linux app eventually 🤞
Honestly xbox games pass cloud gaming, especially dead island 2 is pretty damn fun. This device is honestly insane for a handheld. Its makes the switch kinda sad in the modding sense.
thank you Jason, there aren't many videos on this topic and i think that this is a game changer! If you connect your deck to a 4k TV, would the results be what one would hope for? 4K gaming in the cloud, using the deck as the mean to achieve that?
have you tried the ultimate tier geforce now? Latency is not an issue. I play black ops 6 on geforce now and I cant notice the difference from local hardware.
Is GFN ultimate worth it on the steamdeck or is GFN performance sufficient since steamdeck is caped at 60 fps? Can you max settings on AAA games? And can you play fps games?
I just ordered my steam deck 2 days ago and it showed me the tracking information today but it will no longer show it to me. Now what does that mean just trying to look for some answers because before it stopped showing it was saying it has been entered into our systems and it will update when someone will take your parcel but it no longer shows that sorry for the long comment
I found out that I can use the steam deck track pad to move the mouse cursor and tap on the screen to select it. Pass that it's a real pleasure to play all the game I couldn't access before GeForce. I have GeForce now ultimate and Basic Steam deck.
It sure is - big pain in my butt when I’m trying to benchmark it so I just don’t do it anymore haha. Not sure if that’s normal though, it definitely happens to me too :(
It's something that has to happen after each update, the problem is COD always has some kind of update, so it feels like you have to do shaders everytime.
Geforce now free is a 2080 with ads but wait time queue is 5minutes with 1 hour seasons. Also if you want to use mouse go to the controller settings assign the right track pad as a mouse and pushing the right track as left click.
@@DeadJack1999 That argument does not make much sense. The alternative is everyone having their own beefy hardware at home just like it is now. Wouldn't managing everything in one place be more efficient?
You don't really get any benefit from Ultimate on deck apart from the longer session time. It runs in the browser is us limited to 60fps and no HDR support. Defo stick with priority imo
Sorry, "is the LOSS of graphical fidelity worth it?" Cloud gaming almost exclusively allows me to run games at much higher graphical fidelity than natively. That aside, nice video and thank you 🙏 Cloud Gaming (and GeforceNOW particularly) has revolutionised gaming on the deck for personally. At home I can stream Cyberpunk 2077 on high settings at a pretty constant 60fps at 1080p and for hours. Then, if I take my Deck away, I can carry on where I left off 'on deck'. The only minor gripe I have is that it runs in browser, so there's a technical limit of 60fps and no HDR support. Would love it if they created a native linux app but understand why they wouldn't
GeForce now is what made me sell my Steam Deck and get an ASUS ROG Ally. The ease of use with Windows with GeForce now, and the 120hz with higher resolution capabilities are unmatched

have you found an asnwer yet ? i'm interested too

Some TVs already support GeForce now itself without steam deck etc.

6:38 .. I had that issue before I fixed by holding down the steam button and press the left directional d-pad once . And you’ll get the mouse working

I think it actually makes a lot more sense if you do it that way! Thanks for your kind words 🙏

I'm using ultimate on my razer edge, with the wide screen ratio and the 144hz display it's amazing
Can I use a keyboard and mouse to play with GeForce Now on the Steam Deck with a dock on a 4K monitor?
Yep, works great 👍
@@JasonWitmerYT Which hz
@JasonWitmerYT you have to hold the steam button to be able use the left click or right click function. 😊👍🏻
How’s the battery performance without charging? Will it kill the battery quick or last longer since it streaming ?
it'll last way longer since all the steam deck is doing is sending and receiving data.

Awesome review!! Great channel content! Thank you for your post
Very informative and great at presenting 😊 thanks!

Just curious are you going to review the rouge ally x and also you are an underrated youtuber keep it up bro your doing amazing
Thank you 🙏 honestly I probably won’t review it, doesn’t seem too exciting
Not sure if you play COD, but I noticed that whenever I fired up this game, I had to wait for shaders to load each time. Is that common?

That happens when I boot up cod on my PC lol shaders every time so annoying

Hello does the vibration work with the deck ?
Does holding the Steam key not allow you to accept the EULA?
Yes it does
There isn’t that get started on steam deck option for me
Ok I was a onlive gamer so I know about the 720p stream back in 2011 it was difficult
this will be the new norm is 10 years.
Depends on regulation. The server rooms are very bad for the environment. The us or maybe china wont care about that tho
@@DeadJack1999yeah but making the materials for CDs can’t be good for the environment ether 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Just like non gamer said Onlive 20 years ago

Great review.. Would you recommend the priority or ultimate tier for the SD?
I think the cheaper one is fine if you’re playing handheld! Thanks for watching! 🙏

ok but i dont have a steam deck lol
Do you have any video guides for the bios for the zsus x99

I’d never sell steam deck cause of the support
@@kennypowers1945definitely same
Whattttt you must be inlove with updating , deleting , crashing all in one?
Enjoy 10 fps more with a horrible handheld with crashes and no active support
Enjoy your year of active support
Did you ask for the anime kid haircut?
I sadly bought a steam deck and GeForce now
sadly 😂
What do you mean sadly lol they are fine
They work perfectly
