Brought tears to my eyes. I took my mom to Bryce on our roadtrip. She passed away a couple years ago from lung cancer but Bryce will always have a special place in my heart. So be thankful your mama survived lung cancer and you have tge gift to do this great trip with her. Love your Mom!! Good for her doing her first camping trip with you in her 70’s!!! I hope this is the first of many journeys with your mom.

Gosh your mum is such a beautiful woman. Enjoy every moment with her, be patient and just see the world through your mums eyes on this trip. If sleeping is an issue, you and Kate could get a pop up tent perhaps.

One of the best memories that my mom cherished was a one month RV trip I took her throughout southern Europe. She talked about it for 12 years

Wow, your Mom is a real trooper, and Kate is a Saint! It is a blessing to see you share your adventures with your Mom, and I know it tries your patience at times. But as I was told when I was younger, those things that come easily, fade away and tend to be forgotten quickly. However, those things that are hard, and that you have to work for, provide the sweetest and most long lasting rewards. I applaud you both for taking her and Charlie, and wish great blessings and safe travels to all! Wonderful videos!

Dear team russos, can I just say how much I love love what promises to be a wonderful summer adventure! That you shared all of it in this leg of the journey, the amazing and the frustrating says much about you individually and as a family. I wish you continued laughter and awe and thank you for taking us along for the ride. My very fondest memories are from road trips my parents took us on as children and especially when i was able to later return that incredible favor. Ps, my mother also had lung cancer and lost most of a lung. That your mom made a trek at altitude is a go big kudos!

Your mom is beautiful. Wonderful family vacation. I'm glad the bathroom experience on public lands wasn't so bad.
My parents instilled my love of camping. They managed to take 6 kids backpacking.
They bought a truck camper in their 60’s. When they were in their mid 80’s my husband and I started to plan the trip’s so they just had to show up.
On one trip I watched my 90 year old Mom climb up into the overscan bed and had the realization that she would probably need to crawl down during the night to go to the bathroom 🤦♀️. Since then we have been going to a beautiful rustic resort at a high Mt. Lake. 2020 & 2021 with COVID-19 ate the first years they haven’t gotten out into the wilderness.
This summer we are doing the Oregon coast, but if the stars align, next summer at a mountain cabin, (they will be 95 & 98).

I have to echo the same sentiments as many others regarding Kate. She is such a generous, loving, giving and kind person in general. But, giving her spot to your mom and basically “taking a back seat” literally and figuratively, while cooking and cleaning and organizing and taking great care of Charlie, it’s all just amazing! I wish we could give her a special award for being the best daughter in law and wife and host and, well, you get my point. BRAVO Kate! You’re a one in a million and I am so impressed with you. Absolute best memories! I’m so glad you guys are getting to do this together. We moved my momma in with us last year after my father passed and due to her health issues. We are awaiting our EKKO delivery to take her camping and traveling with us!

Remember, when you get “frustrated”, this is a one time thing, its for a short tume, and you’re capable of stretching and relaxing. Sounds like it will be a fun trip. Don’t over-extend, keep your deadlines for visits flexible. The more you each enjoy yourselves, the better the trip will be for all of you!

It wouldn’t have allowed us to sleep three comfortably. Anything larger would have kept us out of a lot of the places we’re planning to go

Now to find an affordable something to travel in with the worst market for buyers. No turning back now. The dream all started with the Russo’s when they moved into their first van. Can’t wait! I do stay with friends on many stops and have taken a few hotels rooms so we can all have privacy at times
