Hunting for “Ribbokke” in the Eastern Cape Winterberge
No matter in what way you approach the thought or initiative, hunting any of the reedbuck species will always remain a challenge and, if you challenge yourself enough an unforgettable experience. Especially when you throw the Vaal Ribbok (grey rhebok) into the mix. There aren’t many places you can hunt them and the of course you get places and you get places… Our hunting editor, Stefan Fouché, wanted to hunt both the mountain reedbuck (rooi ribbok) and the Vaalie in one hunting trip and cameraman Martin Müller, ownder of @AfricanSunProductions pointed him to Megan King and Ashley Keal from Kings Mountain Lodge near Tarkastad in the Eastern Cape.

It took me 7 days of hunting and 4 frustrating (far) opportunities to finally bag my Vaalie. Such a challenging species to stalk, many hunters will try and fail. I could only laugh when they were running from you from one koppie to the other with those tails in the air...that was my experience also, they just dont give anyone an easy chance. Epic stuff mnr this is a classy trophy.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Good to finally see a good shooting display from Stefan. Congrats.

Thanks, much appreciated. Most people don't realize the cameraman also needs to stay steady in the wind. I love my job though and always enjoy filming for ASM.

They don't answer questions but I think he was using a 338 Win Mag not sure, ideal for that type of game
He said 140 grs bullet, doubt it is 338 win.mag, guess it's a 6,5mm.

Caliber is a 6.5x284 in a Nosler M48 rifle

Nah, I love hunting. It irritates me to see folks spotting from the vehicle and claiming big walks when it’s clearly not been the case. Plus it doesn’t do anything good for the sport’s PR.

Cowards, I saw what you did in "back pack lion hunting". You killed that lion for no fair reason, just because you could. You are deplorable people. You should rethink your lives.
I don't really call that fair hunting and at a long distance with technology range of a rifle and scopes I think it's pretty weak.
