I also am an enjoy-er of mining out big pits, but to do that by hand at that scale is just pure insanity. I'm assuming the perimeter has taken up like 3000 of your 5000 days because goddamn it takes ages to mine that all out.
I stream it all on twitch so i get to talk to people while im mining so that is the main thing that helps me not get bored. Also getting up the leaderboards of certain blocks mined stats is cool to be able to do
