-Thai “human rights activist” Sirikan Chaloernsiri has called for the US to “seize this opportunity” and “restore democracy” in Thailand by ensuring the opposition takes power;
-Sirikan’s opposition group, Thai Lawyers for Human Rights has been funded since its creation in 2014 by the US government through the National Endowment for Democracy (NED);
-The NED funds the core opposition groups leading anti-government protests in Thailand since 2019 (the last Thai general elections) and seeks to install billionaire-led opposition parties into power to roll back Thai relations with China;
-Sirikan made her appeal on “Just Security,” a US-based website whose advisory board is chaired by US State Department employees including Avril Haines who oversaw torture and mass murder-by-drone during the Obama administration;
-The US doesn't seek to “restore democracy” in Southeast Asia, but instead to eliminate governments pursuing independent foreign policies, Sirikan and her “Thai Lawyers for Human Rights” consist of the “color revolution” template used to achieve this in Thailand;

They’ve effectively bought out protest. For a while, years ago, protest was the ‘cool’ thing to do and I wondered then how quickly something like this would happen. Companies already moving in to sponsor protests and posters. The western governments have simply taken over from the companies, and they have far more money and contacts. It’s sick. But, many young people want to rebel against the order of things. If only they could see how they’re being used.

However, the majority of voters in Bangkok and surrounds are prone to the disinformation being spread by the US service clients in Thailand. Of course, where I live, in the "3 provinces" the major contest is between Islamic interests and centrist Thai (Buddhist) parties. Yet, what happens in Bangkok is critical. This is a concern.

No, the vast majority of Thai people do not see the big political picture. Particularly in rural Thailand, votes are bought and sold for the price of a repair to a local road or a few hundred baht into the hand of the voter.
And of course the hand of the previous King had been shaping Thai politics for decades behind the scenes. Predicting how all that will work in the future is more challenging. The last King had mega popularity and respect and was seemingly ably to control the army and other political forces. The current King is new to the position and apparently lives a lot of his time in Germany. All that said he is the King !
For sure all countries should have a “foreign agents” law equally as restrictive to the one existing in the USA in order to destroy the power of the American and Western NGOs (e.g. National Endowment for Democratic, Open Society and USAID) most of which are funded by the US State Dept.
