I have the same battery maintainer. Works great as long as it's plugged in. Lol mine accidentally got unplugged.

I was going to remove the battery from my kp mini and set a tender on it from a work bench. Bike is in shed for the winter. Tell me why this is a bad idea.

@@BobNiebuhr-c4n It’s not a bad idea at all, and if you have a FLA battery it would be best to be out of the cold if possible. Although the water inside the battery might night freeze it would be one less thing to worry about in the cold weather

@herbiesgarage681 Thanks Herbie. Again I'm new to this and appreciate ALL of your videos.

Is this something we need to do if we're using the bike 3-4 days a week through the winter for short drives?

@@DominatingMoose If you ride that much every week in the winter, I wouldn’t think you would need a maintainer on it. If it’s cold out just make sure you run it long enough to get hot to burn the condensation out of it.

@herbiesgarage681 thanks! I'm in Southeast Louisiana, so we don't get very cold here. We usually stay in the 40s for lows, highs of 65-70 all winter.

@herbiesgarage681 oof, the rain is the big problem lol. Tonight we're having rain from a tropical storm mixing with our first winter cold front, so we'll flood a good bit. The epitome of Louisiana weather all in one go 😂

@@DominatingMoose I think we got some of your weather a week or so ago, some places around here got 10" of rain. We got about 7" I feel sorry for you guys if you have to deal with that all the time. Excess water can have a very damaging effect. On the plus side, mild temps in the winter would be great. 😆

I own more than one battery charger/maintainer. I have the inexpensive under $10 Harbor Freight one. Also have the Schumacher 12V or 6V, 1.5 AMP Electric 3-in-1 Battery Charger, Maintainer, and Desulfator, SC1355 Fully Automatic, and Battery Tender 4 AMP Battery Charger and Maintainer - Automotive Switchable 12V or 6V Smart Fully Automatic for Cars SUVs and Trucks - Lead Acid & Lithium Battery Charger - 022-0209-BT-WH. The last one also charges Lead Acid, and Lithium LiFePO4 batteries. I use the last two the most because I have a two-pin quick connector on two of the bikes which makes it less of a hassle by not having to remove a seat or panel to access the battery using the alligator clips. I like Schumacher the best, cause it's reliable (3 years) and comes with the alligator clips and the quick two-pin SAE connector, though its limitation is NOT Lithium battery compatible. I've used the inexpensive Harbor Freight battery charger, but make sure your battery is fully charged before using it. I've yet had the inexpensive Harbor Freight charger recharge a low battery, though the 1.5AMP Schumacher has done so. 1st charger under $10 HF, 2nd Charger about $33 AMZ, 3rd charger about $70 AMZ. Just my two-cents worth if it helps someone. One of the bikes is a Lifan Xpect which came factory with a lithium battery

You probably have more chargers than I do, I have several including a big charger for most batteries including LI batteries.
My ghost battery was almost dead, wouldn’t even crank the bike over and I put the cheap $7 charger on it and the next day, it started great and I actually did the last video of that ride.
Wow, the xpect came with a lithium battery, I’m surprised. I don’t think I’ve seen that on a Chinese ICE bike. Thanks for the information, sounds like you’ve got a lot of experience with the different types of chargers. 👍🏻
