What a brilliant surprise to see you do a review on this stellar piece, I did notice it ofcourse in your room tour so eye catching🤩. Giving my age away but I do remember seeing the original film back in the day as a young lad , I think with my dad? , and I can remember as you mention that at the time it was like nothing else I had ever seen with the lighting and colour pallet, perhaps in some ways a bit like blade runner which was also a 1982 release I believe? I held my breath for you when I heard the plastic crunching and parts moving in to place, so so delicate and pays to be careful when moving👍. I think I have I have only ever seen this piece in one other collection video, it’s a very rare piece and I can imagine the prices being asked for it so well done on playing the long game and picking it up for a price you were willing to pay👍. Some Fantastic pieces incoming to the collection which I am excited to see, thanks for todays video and as always, mind how you go👍
Thank you for the comments and for supporting the channel as always👍 The expression “grail piece ” gets used a lot in the 1/6 scale world but I really do think it applies here. Even if you don’t like the movie the aesthetics and style are off the charts with this piece and it hits that line between collectible and work of art. For me this is Hot Toys at the height of their powers! Only problem is it takes 10 years off my life every time I have to handle it😂 It took sometime to bag this bad boy, but it was worth the wait and is definitely one of my most treasured pieces. Hopefully we will see HT make some more 1/6 scale stuff from this IP with Disneys Tron Ares on the horizon…possibly a reissue of this piece???..as always stay safe and happy collecting 👍
The Tron Legacy soundtrack by Daft Punk is one of my favourite soundtracks of all time! I've tried to find this light cycle and missed a couple times. Great review and makes me wish I could find a reasonably priced one aftermarket.
Absolutely 💯 the soundtrack and the cameo appearance by Daft Punk are worth the price of admission alone. With Tron Ares on the way from Disney hopefully we will see some new 1/6 scale goodies from Hot Toys…maybe a new light cycle that doesn’t command such high prices and helps bring down the aftermarket price of this piece. Thanks for your comments and for supporting the channel and as always, happy collecting👍
Great review I would suggest you polish the clear plastic on the helmet with a swirl remover or some comparable compound Actually, you'd be able to do the whole cycle to remove all the micro scratches I've done this many times to some of my Ironman figures and such Will bring a whole new look to your lightcycle!
