Are there any reference books that have photos of patterns and designs? I'd love to have a Khatam reference book but cant find any. The process and design are spectacular
Unfortunately there are not many reference books and most of them are kept in libraries as source books. Did you search for documentation books about Persian patterns?

There is a similar artwork in Japan called Yosegi. Difference is that they use only wood of different colours to make the design.
