Conservative judges say they won’t hire Columbia graduates | Dan Abrams Live

  • A group of right-leaning federal judges sent a letter to the president and law dean of Columbia University saying they won’t hire graduates of their school after the unrest that has taken over campus the last few weeks of the academic year. “As judges who hire law clerks every year to serve in the federal judiciary, we have lost confidence in Columbia as an institution of higher education,” said the 13 conservative judges.

    So called "Ivy league " has been losing it's appeal for decades. The employers have been slowly backing away from their graduates.

    • @Tati8796
      @Tati8796 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      @1020donny you should do research instead of saying these banalitiess. As for me, I can see it on an example of my own engineering company: 15 years ago lvy League graduate was a must if you wanted to apply for a position. Now? It's not even an advantage. It's common knowledge that being in the Ivy League is more about making connections than getting educated

      @1020donny I'm a lawyer who worked in one of the big global firms (Coudert Brothers). Large law firms may not be the best example because they tend to be very conservative - or behind the times. But I'd say in the last few years ivy league has SLOWLY been losing its caché in law firms. For a variety of reasons. But undeniably one of the reasons is that all of this goofing around with admissions, grades and standards is starting to make employers see ivy graduates as a less 'reliable product' than before.
      However, if you are a white male applying for large law firms today, it may be more important than ever to be ivy league. My friend worked for Skadden an absolutely legendary firm in the M&A field. This year he applied to Linklaters and they told him to his face "You are a middle aged white male and in the current environment it is difficult to undertake a hire with your profile."
      I know this sounds like some fearmongering BS story by an anti-DEI nut but I promise this is dead real. He is a close friend for 20 years, not a liar and didn't even need the job as he is doing well. But things have gotten to the point where a major employer can tell you to your face "Sorry but you are white and that's a problem."

      ivy league? rather a plank 🥳 In old trains the third class was called the wooden class as it was very, very basic. To my understanding the so-called ivy league is not able to filter out truthful information from all the propaganda, that is so important for every future job, hard to learn that now at this age if one did not grow up building the filter for good and bad information. In every business the success is dependable on that skill. Imagine a board meeting when no one is able to filter out bad information, that company will not exist for longer.

This conversation is being discussed as if politicians or businesses are making this decision. But these are judges who are supposed to stay out of political issues like this. If they don’t wanna hire from the school, that’s one thing. But they wanted to make a big splash about it.
    PS, then I found out that every one of the judges is a Trump appointee. So that sounds about right. These are probably the ones that were the clear rabies infected activist judges. Not all Trump appointees did it, but these are the ones that fit that group.

    Ridiculous, vindictive and prejudicial. Dan Abrams ruined it for everyone by making such a totally biased statement, then at the end of the video promoting the channel as unbiased coverage. 👎
