I'm sure you can get it. The hardest part is just keeping track of where the screws go back and even that's not too complicated there's only one screw that's a different size than all the other ones.
To be honest doing this pretty much unseen was a little nerve-wracking at first and trying to make sure I got everything recorded to help. But this was the most heart breaking 💔 thing I've endured with my R5!! I thought it was over for me. No one wanted to fix it and the o e person that would even talk to me wanted to much!! I actually took the $800 I saved and bought an open box 📦 R7! I hope you get it.. it is really easy. Patience is the best tool in this situation. Good luck Brother and let me know if you have any questions
Thanks, I bought a door and had 2nd thoughts about doing it myself, then decided I'd wait until now when I have 2 months between shoots and planned on shipping it back to Canon for a $500+ repair, I'm going to dig into it this weekend now that I've seen a video with all the steps.
Oh man! broke the door of my R7. Well done video that your wife shot! Cameras are almost the same, just different doors probaby. Retired electromechanical engineer and could probably do. Don't worry about getting mixed up. Happens to the best of us! Seem like a guy that would always figure it out!
Super video but if you repair in Sweden check with Canon Sweden first - it costed me only 150 Euro to repair this door, install firmware and clean camera sensor :-)
Is it possible to change the door without replacing the entire system? I noticed three screws located on the top of the hinge door. If you remove those screws, can you simply switch out the door?
No, not at all. That's why I made this video. I was hoping it would just be as easy as taking out four or five screws and sliding it out. You actually have to disassemble it because they screwed it together from the inside! But, in all honesty, it wasn't hard. The hardest part was just making the chart of where the screws went. Every screw is the exact same size except for one screw. Write me if you need any more help okay
awesome! Trying this next week! Wish me luck brother

Hope this HELPS!!
Thanks for your demo, just fixed my R5!
Glad it helped!
Dude thank you so much for taking on this task. Literally just broke mine and I wanted to see how bad the job would be

Honestly, it was not that hard and I also watched another tutorial where a guy open one up to actually tighten up the hot shoe.
@@photobeast about an hour and 20 minutes, all fixed. Thanks!
@@ofallonweather glad you got it!! It is very rewarding fixing things ourselves too!!

Good luck. It's not that hard at all. Just keeping track of the screw sizes and where they go! You can do it, I'm sure, without issue.
merci a toi, super tuto

That's not bad at all!! I cprsn my sensor all the time. With Mirrorless, it is so easy now. Glad you got it fixed for such a great price
My man, you´re a true hero \o/
Where you got the SD Card door from?
I ordered off of Ebay, they are roughly $50 and a perfect match to the original!
