Hi Chuck, I sent all the Jr. Admins on my team to your channel for Linux crash course.. lots of positive feedback, thank you for saving me the trouble.. lol :)
The annoying thing about when you learn one programming language and then you start learning another is you gotta learn variables, arrays, loops, and functions all over again because their is slight differences in code.
focus on coding through algorithms first! they all use practically the same algorithms. Then its easier to understand how to build any of the languages
I was wondering why an until-loop needed to exist when you can simply negate the same condition in a while-loop to achieve the same effect. As it turns out, it's just to comply with POSIX in an attempt to make things more readable for the end user, back when it was being developed and targeted at end-users rather than software developers. That turned out to be a mistake, as it only made things more confusing and unclear to people.
I made something similar for a Python project. I took a webcam and used cv to track specific parts of the body to count whenever you do a push up. Great video bro
ive got the BASH in my stash suply loop n doop n hash while space ex sxx do sucker echo verible apps and pushups coffee kiills sports thats sucks "6minits of look on bash from chuck" 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 no fucked up

The never ending while loop is often used in microcontrollers where you actually want the code to loop forever after powering the device that the microcontroller controls 🙂
at 13:45 we made a file at the to put our ping responses into. When the loop ends. Shouldn't we also delete that /dev/null file. by adding this line at the end of the script rm -rf /dev/null
/dev/null in Linux is a null device file. This will discard anything written to it, and will return EOF on reading. This is a command-line hack that acts as a vacuum, that sucks anything thrown to it.
More coffee Brother Chuck !! TY for the vids , learning and deploying massive network skills with your tutorials. Keep it up but first,,, More coffee !!! ☕
Elooo chuck, would you please drop a vid on HCI?, hyperflex , VMware etc... personally I would deeply appreciate it brother :) Thank you for the amazing content
I find it’s so odd that 40 years ago while learning basic then cobol and others I learned these concepts. I never continued in programming but now find playing with Linux and learning this that although some differences with commands. The logic is the same so learning is easier. Thank you. Now need to watch the rest of these.
everything is ok only thing that concerns is why most of your video thumbnails are having anonymous mask covered up in your face and its funny to look a bearded anonymous hacker/youtuber
I have a gripe to vent with you. While 99% of your content is fun and really beneficial, you keep doing something that IMO is the most insecure thing that MOST network admins do. You use admin portals without fully setting up the certificate trusts. In a small network like your’s where there is likely only one person in the sandbox, this is not really an issue. But, in a large scale network when new appliances and services are being set up, telling your browser to ignore a local admin portal’s untrusted certificate is one of the most insecure behaviors a network admin can engage in. If I have limited access to your local area network, It is so easy to intercept an ip address and man in the middle a login page that will capture your admin credentials that you typed into the wed browser. Unfortunately, most network admins have copied this behavior and we have networks everywhere with admin portals that are not properly secured with trusted SSL certificates. Wouldn’t setting up a trusted certificate first thing be the behavior and best practice we should all be promoting? I mean, if you are worried about using a custom private subnet range more than this, your priorities probably need deeper reflection. On a lighter note, thanks for your awesome content!
What a champ. You should do pushups in the intro of the video. Gotta build up your brain muscles to be a better hacker by getting that blood flowing right. ;)
I get linode sponsors your videos. I get you think it's great. But aws offers much the same service, virtual machines work too, wsl2 has been working amazing from my experience. I'd like to see you mix it up a bit more so we can all learn a bit more.
Most of the time when you first start learning Linux, you have a beginner program for the matrix like screen in your terminal. That program is on an infinite loop most of the time.
Love you videos, so helpful! I have a question. I have a script that counts the amount of folders and creates the next one (plus some stuff that goes into that folder). Anyway, I want to remove those files. And instead, look at the highest number and create the next one. For example, if folder "stuff_thing359". I want it to be able to create "stuff_thing360". But currently, I have to have that many folders (359), since it counts them, and then it makes "stuff_thing360".
Great way to teach people a subject. I've been coding for 20 years but never had such a fun instructor

lol. Glad I could help :)
I know I used this when getting ready for My RHCSA exam 😂😂😂
The way you teach. It will make things more easier to understand. Thanks chuck waiting for the next tutorial of bash.
sadly, there isn't going to be a next one
The annoying thing about when you learn one programming language and then you start learning another is you gotta learn variables, arrays, loops, and functions all over again because their is slight differences in code.
Syntaxes differs, but most logic and structure is similar.. once you learn one it's easier to learn others..
:)
Why you learn others? Master one
focus on coding through algorithms first! they all use practically the same algorithms. Then its easier to understand how to build any of the languages
ikr and thats when i end up becoming lazy to learn another language
There are more advanced things that are annoying than some basic concepts but you are still crying about this?
My brain is SHREDDED!
Man that thumbnail threw me off big time 🤣
Great content, keep up the good work!

The never ending while loop is often used in microcontrollers where you actually want the code to loop forever after powering the device that the microcontroller controls 🙂
Yea, for ex. Arduino code is stored inside a loop() function and runs as long as the device is on.
